After taking many class from the wonderful Hero Arts team at Scrapfest I decided to give some of their amazing techniques in a class of my own. In this class we will be making four christmas card, two of each design. For one card we will be using Tim Holtz's Distress Stains and some white embossing powder to create a beautiful background. On the second card we will be using Tim Holtz Distress Inks to stamp and create a beautiful water colour look. We will also be using the sewing machine to embellish both cards.

I made this card for my Father-In-Laws birthday today. I wanted to make a card with a trailer on it as we have been doing some camping with them lately out at their trailer. I used a lot of masking so that I was able to colour the images with my copics and create the background.

Wow time is sure flying by fast. The kids have been keeping me busy! We also bought a trailer and have been trying to use it us much as we can before the cold weather hits. I have been making a lot of cards for Charity Stamping Party coming up in September. I will start to post some of them soon.

My Advent Calendar

I will first start by saying this Advent Calendar was a lot more work then I first thought it was going to be. It has taken me almost 2 weeks to finish it. However, I am so happy with how it turned out! It didn't come out how I first thought it was going to, but I do think it came out better then I had imagined.

I picked up the kit about two years ago at my local scrapbooking store DAT'S. I first started by sanding all the pieces with a electric palm sander. I really reccomened using one if you decide to take on this project, it really speed up the sanding time. I tehn painted all the pieces with Red Paint. It took about three coats to really cover the boards. I then painted 1/3 of the numbers with Red, 1/3 of the numbers with Light Green and 1/3 with Dark Green Paint. When the paint was dried I sprayed them all with a bit of Tattered Angles Glimmer mist. I then finished them of by coating them with two layers of clear embossing powder on the top to give them a glossy look.

The page in the centre is made using Bo Bunny new line of Double Dot papers. The Ribbon is from Stampin' Up and finished off with a button from my stash. I used the ornament punch from Stampin' Up to punch out some the Ornaments from matching paper. I then used foam squares to adhere them. I stitched above them with some sparkly white embroidery floss. The photo is actually removable. I made it so that every year I could replace it with that years Santa Picture. I thought this would be a great way to display the girls' Santa picture.

The boxes are covered with 5 different Christmas papers from various designers. I used various embellishments from my stash to make each box look a little different.

In the end I love how it turned out and I am glad that it is finish. Now I can't wait for Christmas so that I can use it.

Rhylan is 3 Months!

Rhylan is 3 months old. She is getting big fast but not fast enough for the doctor. She hasn't gained any weight in over a month so we are moving her onto formula. Hopefully this will fix the problem and help put on some weight. I hope to have some cards to post soon. Have been so busy getting classes ready for the fall I haven't had much to post lately. I hope to be able to work on some sample cards really soon!

Friends of ours delivered their baby girl Jocelyn this morning. We went by for a visit this evening so I made them a card this afternoon. Happy Birthday Jack!

I made this card for my cousin Jack's Birthday. I wanted to use the new Pennant Parade stamp set from Stampin' Up. I decided to turn them upside sown to make them look like party hats. The card sketch came from Taylored Expression Sketch Challenge #142. To make the card I started with a base of Early Espresso cardstock. I then added some Crumb Cake cardstock for a mat for my pattern paper. The pattern paper is from my Basic Grey 6x6 Birthday Pack. I then stamped three party hats in Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, and Tangerine Tango on the matching Cardstock. I then punched them out with the new Pennant Punch from Stampin' Up. The larger hat is cut from some more paper from the 6x6 Basic Grey paper pack. I placed the hats on a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock that I spritz with my Stampin' Up Colour spritzer and the Crumb Cake marker. The pom poms on the hats are flower brads that I had in my stash. I mounted the Crumb Cake strip on top of some Early Espresso cardstock that I punched on one side with the Scalloped Edge Punch from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Sell-a-bration set "So Happy For You". I stamped it on some Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink. I then notched out the end and curled it slightly to look like a banner. I finished the card off with some Brown pearls from my stash.

On the inside of the card I used some more Crumb Cake cardstock. My sentiments are from the Stampin' Up set "Bring on the Cake". I drew around the outside with the Early Espresso marker to make a small border. My friend Donna does this on the inside of her cards and I think it looks great so I thought I would give it a try.

I entered my card in the Taylor Expressions Sketch Challenge #142 at Splitcoaststampers.

I made this card for my husband for his birthday. We celebrated his birthday yesterday with a nice backyard BBQ with some of our friends. For his birthday I gave my husband a gift certificate to get his tattoos done. After Rhylan was born my husband new he was ready to get the girls names done. He plans to get one on each forearm. He was very excited about his gift!

To make the card I started with some crumb cake cardstock for the base of the card. I then used some of my Stella Rose paper for the two pattern papers in the background. I matted one of the pattern papers with some Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze. I stitched around the outside with my sewing machine and some dark brown thread. I then stamped out Beerafella with some memento ink on some Very Vanilla cardstock. I then cut it out using my oval nestabilities. I used a technique my friend Shanna taught me to make sure I didn't cut off the beer case with the nestability. I added a scalloped oval cut from some crumb cake cardstock using the scalloped oval nestabilities. I coloured Beerafella with my copic markers and distressed the edges with some crumb cake ink. I added some of my new Early Espresso Scalloped ribbon from Stampin' Up to the left side and placed my image over top. The sentiment is from a 2011 Stampin' Up Sell-a-bration set called"Happy for You". I stamped it with Early Espresso Ink and distressed the edges again with Crumb Cake ink. I added a Baja Breeze corduroy button with some Whisper white and Early Espresso bake's twine.

On the inside of the card I used some scraps from my Stella Rose paper to finish off the card. I used the "Occasional Quotes" and "Bring on the Cake" stamp sets for my sentiment.

Rhylan is 2 Months Old!

Wow my baby is now 2 months old, where has the time gone. Rhylan now smiles and is very close to laughing, she is even trying to pull her self up to be sitting when you are holding her. She is getting big so fast, I wish I could slow down time!

Happy Father's Day Again!

This is the Father's Day card that I made for my dad and my father-in-law. They both enjoy fishing so I thought the card was appropriate for both of them. The idea for the card came from on of the blogs I follow. She used this same design to make a motorcycle card. My dad is a avid biker so that is why her card caught my attention.

I started by stamping three fish on some Crumb Cake cardstock in Blue Bayou, Cajun Craze and Close to Cocoa. I then matted that piece with some Cajun Craze and Blue Bayou cardstock. I mounted it on some Fishing pattern paper that I picked up last week at my LSS. I then stamped "Happy Father's Day" from Stampin' Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes set, onto some Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with the word window punch. I used the modern label punch to punch out some Soft Suede cardstock to mount my sentiment on. I then used some twine and two copper square brads to mount my sentiment at the bottom of the card. I distressed the edges of the papers with some Crumb Cake ink to give them a weathered, outdoor look. I finished the card off with three copper brads in the top right corner.

On the inside of the card I used some Very Vanilla paper distressed with Crumb Cake ink. I then stamped "Happy Father's Day" from Stampendous with Close to Cocoa ink. I finished it off with two strips of stripped paper along the left side. I matted the Very Vanilla piece with some Cajun Craze cardstock to match the front of the card.

I made these two cards during my massive card making time last Thursday and Friday. I usually don't make the same card but after talking with one of my girlfriend she reminded me "why reinvent the wheel". We all get so stressed trying to make a new card for each person when sometimes the same card could serve two purposes. This is a anniversary card for my parents and the I made another for a wedding reception I was attending.

I used the recipe stamp from Stamping Bella. I then wrote on the a recipe for a perfect marriage. I believe my parents have perfected the recipe as they are celebrating 35 years of marriage. I used paper black and white pattern paper from Doodlebug for the anniversary card and wedding paper from DCWV for the wedding card. I used Bo Bunny ribbon for the bow on the anniversary card and some paper flower and red brads from my stash for the wedding card. Both cards have three pewter heart brads in the lower right corner to finish off the card.

On the inside I used my small scalloped border punch from EK Success along the far edge and then added a strip of Black and White pattern paper along the side. The sentiments on both cards are from a C.C Designs "Love" set. The "Happy Anniversary" & "Congratulations" is from a Stampin' Up Hostess set.

This is the Father's Day Card I made for my husband from the girls. The inspiration came from one of the Blogs that I follow Stampin' Mom of Four. She has put a full tutorial with all the measurements on her blog that you can follow while making the card. It is very simple but has a nice finished quality to it. I used some pattern paper from my Masculine Stash. I am sorry I can't remember what company it is from. I then finished the shirt off with some small solid eyelets. I haven't used eyelets in so long that I almost forgot how to put them in.

I stamped the "Happy Father's Day" on the inside with Blue Bayou ink. The stamp is from a Fishing Set that I picked up at my local scarpbooking store.

Happy Birthday Hayden!

I am excited that for the last two days I have been able to hang out in my scrap space. I really needed it this week as I have 2 birthday, a wedding, a anniversary, and 3 father's day cards to make. This is the first time I have been able to scrapbook since Rhylan was born. Now that she will hang out in her vibrating chair or on her playmat I am hoping that I will be able to get more done. I made this card for my cousin's baby who is turning one this week.

I started with some Marina Mist cardstock. I then used my new texturzs plates from Stmapin' Up to add some texture to the Certainly Celery cardstock. The pattern paper is from my new 6x6 Jillian Bean Soup pack of paper. I matted it with some more Marina Mist. The Owl is created with the Owl Punch from Stampin' Up. His wings are made by cutting a Scalloped Oval in half. I used the Tiny Leaves sizzlet to give him a branch to sit on. His hat is a triangle cut from some of the Jillian Bean Soup paper. I cut off a small pom pom from the Tangerine Tango Pom Pom Ribbon from Stampin' Up and added it to the top of the hat. I mounted the owl and branch on a circle cut from Whisper White Cardstock with the circle nestabilities. I then mounted it on a Marina Mist scalloped circle cut with my nestabilities. The balloon is made from an oval Nestability and cutting a little of the sides to make it more like a balloon shape. I then attached a small bow and tail made out of baker's twine. I added some Marina Mist Ribbon across the bottom to finish it off.

For the inside of the card I used Marina Mist Ink and the new Birthday Set from Stampin' Up. I used a strip of Jillian Bean Soup paper across the top with a strip of Certainly Celery punched with the scalloped border punch. I matted the piece off whisper White cardstock with Certainly Celery to finish of the card.

These are my thank you cards that I sent out after Rhylan was born. I have to thank my friend Lee-ann for the inspiration. I started with Certain Celery for the base of the card. I decided to try and use up some of my Baby Girl paper that I had in my stash, so I used three pattern papers from the same line. I am so sorry I just can't remember who made the paper line at this moment. I then used my cricut and the Simply Charmed cartridge to make the soother. The thanks was also cut with the cricut from some Crumb Cake cardstock. The ribbon was purchase from my LSS. I added two buttons in the right corner to finish it off. The only problem with the buttons is that they made the card to thick and I had to pay for a oversize letter. I decided to hand deliver as many as I could to save me some money. I need to make a few more so I think I will try to find something else to use in place of the buttons.

Here is the announcements I made to send out to our family and friends. I made them with magnets on the back so people could put them on their fridge. I started with a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock cut to fit my magnets. I then used so pink distressed paper from a old CTMH line and made a scalloped border for the bottom. I used the small scalloped border punch from EK Success. The stripped paper was from a old line from The Paper Company. I cut a two inch strip for the background. I then laid some "It's a Girl" ribbon at the top. The flower are punched out using a EK Success flower punch from the same paper as I used to make the scalloped border. I added three small rhinestones in the centre of the flowers using the iRock tool. With my computer I printed out the her birth information, I then used Regal Rose Ink and my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up my information stamp. The stamp is from a old Stampin' Up stamp set called "Bundle of Joy". I mounted it on some Blush Double Dot paper from Bo Bunny. I printed a 2x2 photo of Rhylan and mounted it on the same Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I love how they turned out but after making 75 of them I about done with them. They also cost me a fortune to mail as the magnets made them a little heavy, well I guess that is a lesson learned and I will remember how heavy magnets are next time I want to add them to a project.

I'm One Month Old!

I can't believe that a month has gone by already! It was definately a very long month. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days after Rhylan was born. We had to stay that long as she was a bit jaundice and needed the blue lights to help her get better. I couldn't complain it was a nice little vacation for me I got to read and relax while we were there. We then came home for about 48 hours and then I started to get really sick. I tried to ignore some of my symptoms in the afternoon but then by the evening they had gotten really bad and I was running a temp of 42 degrees. My husband rushed me to the hospital. It turns out that I had multiple infection throughout my body and I had started to go into septic shock. It was pretty scarry but we made it through. I end up spending 8 days in the hospital and had to have a blood transfusion on day 3. Things started to turn around after that and I got better each day. Now I have been home for about two weeks and we are finally starting to get into a routine. I haven't been able to scrapbook much, but I did manage to get most of my birth announcements for Rhylan out as well as all of Rhys' Birthday invites. Here hoping next month is a bit better.

Rhys' Birthday Invites

I have been working away at anything that I can think of these days. I am just trying to keep my mind occupied while we wait for this little one to finally make an appearance. I decided to get a head start in planning Rhys' birthday party. Her party is not until June but I thought with the new baby I might not have as much time as I like to make invites. Right now I have all the pieces cut and the invites printed. The party location has been booked and the deposit has been put down. Now I just have to glue everything together. I figure I can do that slowly while the kids are napping or watching T.V. I find the hard part is getting into my scrap space to get things planned and cut. Now that part is done so it should be easier to get them together.

I used my Gypsy to create the template for the invite. The base is made from welding the "3" candle from Sweet Treats with the cupcake from Create a Critter. I removed the eyes and mouth from the frosting cut. The base is made from left over paper from a previous project, I had enough scraps to cut all the bottoms out. The frosting is cut from Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I then passed it through the cuttlebug using the Swirl embossing folder. I also sprayed it with a layer of Pink Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angles. The "3" candle is cut from Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I then used the Burnished Velvet technique to create the flame at the top of the candle. I finished it off with a pretty pink bow on the cupcake base.

This is what the back of the card looks like. I printed these with my computer after I had cut the out but before I assembled the front pieces. I created the blurry part in photoshop for privacy reasons, on the real version you can read all the information.

I am really happy how these turned out and found that even though I have to make 28 it really didn't take me very long. So Far ... LOL!

Still No Baby ...

Just a quick post to let anyone reading my blog that there is still no baby yet. We are now two days over due and have no signs of anything happening yet. I will keep you all posted and let you all know when the little bundle of joy finally arrives. I will also post my Thank you cards and Baby announcements that I have made once the baby is here.

On the other hand I have been on a roll and managed to almost finished all of Rhys' Birthday invites. Her birthday isn't until June 6th but I thought I would get going on them before the new baby gets here and I have less time to work on them. I will post them as soon as they are done.

Another Baby On the Way!

I recently found out that a friend, who I have grown up with since childhood, is expecting her first baby. I wanted to make her a card to show her my excitement for her. As you can probably tell I made the last two cards on the same night. They both have very close to the same feel. I find that is what happens when you can only make so many trips up and down the stairs. You tend to use what you have already dragged up.

I started with last week's sketch from The Sweet Stop. I then turned to my trusty Crumb Cake paper for the base and Stella Rose paper for my pattern paper. I stamped Expecting Bella on some Copic Express paper and coloured her with my copic markers. I cut her out with my Oval Nestabilities and mounted her on some Crumb Cake paper cut with the Scalloped Oval Nestabilitie. I masked my Bella image and then used a sponge and Crumb cake ink to tone down the white of the Copic Express paper. I also ink around the edge with some more Crumb Cake ink. I stitched a zig zig stitch with my sewing machine around the two rectangles. I added three paper flowers to the left lower corner and finished them off with three cream brads from my stash. In the top right corner I added two Bella Blings to finish of the card.

On the inside of the card I stamped one of my favourite baby sentiments with Early Espresso Ink and finished the side of the card with some scraps left over from the front.

I made this post a little early but I do plan to enter it in That's Krafty Thursday over at the Spotted Chick's Blog. I love her That's Krafty Thursday Challenge as all you need to do is use Kraft or Crumb Cake paper somewhere on your card. This is her 50th That's Krafty Thursday Challenge so she challenging everyone so that she gets 50 entries in this weeks Challenge. I challenge you all to join her over at The Spotted Chick.

Get Well Soon Linda!

I made this card for my best friend Linda, who just had her second shoulder surgery. I used the Get Well Bella on her get well card last time so I thought I would change it up a bit this time and use Park Bench Bella. I love my Bella stamps, they seem to be my go to stamps for any of my girlfriends.

I started with this weeks sketch at The Sweet Stop. I then turned to my Stella Rose paper. I love how each pack has so many different papers that all coordinate with each other. It makes building a card so easy. I stamped Bella on some Copic Express paper with some Momento ink. I then coloured her with my copics and paper pieced her shirt, pants and the treat box from left over scraps in my scrap bin. I distressed the edges of the Copic Express paper with Crumb Cake Ink. I then matted the image with Pear Pizzaz cardstock, I also matted the background paper with the same Pear Pizzaz cardstock. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from Stampin' Up and stamped with Early Espresso ink. I then punched it out with my 1 1/2 inch circle punch. I added a small rinestone to the dogs collar for a little bling. I then added three orange brads from my stash to finish off the card.

I was able to enter my card in the following challenges: The Sweet Stop Sketch #103, Cupcake Craft Challenge for their Doctor and Nurses / Get Well Challenge, Stamp Something for their Sassy Circles Challenge.

Teegan's Birthday Card

I made this card for a friend's birthday party my daughter was invited to go to. He is a huge Cars fan. Every gift he got tonight was Cars theme, along with the whole birthday party. I used my Gypsy and the Disney/Pixar Cars cartridge to make the card. I first put the shadow feature on and used black cardstock to make the base of the card. I copied the shadow then flipped and welded the two together to make the base of the card. All of the rest of his features were cut using scraps from my scrap bin. I used the Gypsy to position all of the cuts on one mat so that I only needed to cut once and then layer him all together. I LOVE how he turned out and he wasn't to bad to put together. I don't believe you can cut him any smaller as some of the cuts were pretty small even at this size of about 3 1/2 x 5 3/4. On the inside on the card I printed a sentiment with my computer and then mounted it on a scrap of yellow cardstock. I think I will be making another one of these for another little boys party we have been invited to this weekend. Maybe this time I will try Matter.

I have been working really hard on my baby announcements and some thank you cards for when the baby comes. I unfortunately won't be able to post them until after the baby arrives as some of my family don't know what we are having and want to be surprised. I will post them a soon as the little one arrives.

Crayon Wallet

I thought I would show you one of my sewing projects I have been working on the last couple of days. This is my trial crayon wallet. I found the idea on Etsy during one of my late night surfing moments. I bought the pattern from Jennifer Casa here at her Etsy shop. The instructions were great and super easy to follow. I want to make one to match my new diaper bag. This one is just my trial run as the fabric to match my diaper bag was quite expensive. I a m glad I did a trial run because there are a few things I learned as I went. The wallet holds 8 crayons, a 3x5 note pad and some stickers. I thought this would be great to carry in the diaper bag for those moments with my 2 1/2 year when you are waiting at a restaurant or at the Doctor's Office. I also have plans to make a few more for gifts for friends who have kids. It only took me about 2 hours to do. That is without counting the countless interruptions from my daughter for snacks and juice. Also the power went out at my house for about 1 hour and 1/2 right in the middle while I was on a roll.

Wedding Shower Gift

Tonight I attend a Bridal Shower for a family friend. They are getting married in Los Cabos, Mexico this April. I decided to make this container and fill it with $1 U.S bills. We usually give a gift like this at the wedding but because we are not going on this destination wedding I thought it would be nice to give it to her at the Shower.

I bought the cylinder tube at my local scrapbook store. I wrapped it in an old wedding paper line from Cloud Nine Design. The ribbon around the edge of the tube was from my stash of ribbon. I cut a circle with my cricut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped the Bella and Fella Wedding image onto it. I also cut a scalloped circle with my cricut from some Grey Bazzil Bling paper. The sentiment is from a old Stampin' Up set (sorry I can't remember the name right now). I coloured Bella and her Fella with Stampin' Up markers. Her dress and veil are covered in Dazzling Diamonds.

For this card I started with a 4 x 6 black card base and the card sketch from this weeks Get Sketchy challenge. The stripped pattern paper is from the same Cloud Nine Wedding Line as the one I used on the tube. I wanted to use my new stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs. I stamped the image onto some Whisper White cardstock and coloured them in with my copics. The sentiment makes me laugh because a Scrapping Friend of mine is obsessed with puns. She loves to use them and giggles at them while she puts them together. This one is for you Snappy Scraps. The sentiment is similar to the one that came with the image but I changed the words a bit to fit my card and printed it off my computer. I then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the two sheep in the middle. I cut the image out with my nestabilities and cut out a matching black scalloped circle too. I then matted the other pattern paper with a black border punched with the mini scalloped border punch from EK Success. My sentiment is a piece of ribbon from my stash also mounted on a strip of black cardstock. I finished it off with some black organza ribbon tied into a small bow.

The sentiment is printed on my computer onto some Whisper White Cardstock. I used the same stripped paper as the front on the inside of the card. I also used the same scalloped border punch on a small strip of black paper. I then stamped a small bride and groom with Versamark and embossed them with white embossing powder.

I entered my card in at Get Sketchy Card Challenge Sketch #80 and at Bugaboo's Monochromatic Challenge.

Gus and Stella Celebrate Easter...

I love these guys! Gus and Stella are from one of my favourite digital stamp sites Bugaboo Stamps. Gus and Stella are actually separate stamps but I loaded them into adobe photoshop and put them side by side to make them one. The sentiment comes with the Stella image but I changed it to say "we" rather then "I". I started by printing Gus and Stella onto some Copic Express paper. I let them rest over night and then coloured them with my copic markers. I have found that letting the image sit over night has really minimized the bleeding when colouring with my copics on digital images. I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop for my layout. This is one of my favourite sites to get layouts from. I printed the sentiment onto some Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with my smallest oval nestabilities. I then cut a small scallop oval from a scrap of green pattern paper. The pattern paper is all from an old Close to My Heart line. I used some pink thread to stitch around the outside of the card and the outside of my image. I also flocked Gus' belly and their ears and tails with some Snow White Fun Flock from Stampendous. I used a small scalloped border from EK Success on a piece of green pattern paper to go along the side of the stripped paper. I finished off the card with some flowers and buttons from my friend Shanna's stash. Thanks Shanna! I felt it was still missing something so I added a paper clip and some ribbon from my stash to really finish of the card.

I was able to enter my card at the following challenges: The Sweet Stop for the 100th Sketch challenge, ABC Challenge for Q is for Quiltling/Sewing for sewing on my card, Stamp Something for their Something Sweet Challenge (I think any Easter Card reminds me of Sweets and Chocolate), Raise the Bar for their G.R.E.E.N Acrostic Challenge (G - Gus image, R - Ribbon, E - Embroidery Floss, E - Easter theme, N - Nestabilities).

This was one of the only projects I managed to complete with my whole day of scrapbooking with my girlfriends. And to be totally honest I finished it today. So really I didn't finish anything. However I did spend a lot of time working on my baby announcements. I won't be able to post them for awhile as we still have family that don't know what we are having. Only three more weeks to go and the little one should be here. I can't wait!

Easter Wishes Card

I was surfing around the computer and found a posting about Bugaboo's new Easter Digi Stamps. I have purchased digi stamps before but have never had any luck being able to use them with my copics. My images always bleed and looked horrible. My girlfriend Krista got me hooked on a new paper to use with my copics, "Copic Express". As I was colouring my new chart I noticed a huge difference and there was no bleeding. A light went on I thought that I finally might be able to use some of the digi images I had gotten before. Sure enough the new paper and a few hours to let it cure and I was on a roll. I purchased this new set of Block Bunny's from Bugaboo Stamps. I remember a card that my girlfriend Donna had made with six scalloped blocks. It was great inspiration for this card. I modified the size of the Block Bunny's in adobe photoshop so they would fit in a 1 3/8 square punch. I used my Gypsy and the Mini Monograms cartridge to create a scalloped square for them to layer on. The yellow base is a old piece from World Wind Cardstock. I then added a mat of Blue Bayou to my pattern paper which I found in my scrap bin. The other solid papers are Bo Bunny Double Dot. The ribbon is Bo Bunny too!

On the inside I printed another digi image from Bugaboo. I then stitched with my sewing machine around the outside twice. Once with Orange thread then with Green Thread. I coloured the bunny with my copics. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up Hostess set I just got with my last order. It is actually the only Easter sentiment that I own.

I was able to enter this card into a few challenges. The first one is at Stamp Something, it is a "Digi Challenge", use at least one digital item on your card. I then entered it at Bugaboo Blog Challenge, "Anything Goes", make a card with any of their stamps. I then entered it at Cupcake Craft Challenges, "Pink Polka Dots", use pink polka dots on your card. I used a pink polka dot ribbon hopefully that counts. The last challenge I put it in at was Paper Sundaes, "Stripes", I think my plaid might be a stretch from stripes but I though a plaid is made up from a lot of stripes so it was worth a try. I did try to use a strip paper but it just didn't work.

New Book!!

I am so excited my new book just arrived in the mail. I must admit I am not a big reader but I have this things for Biographies. Especially ones that make you laugh the whole time. I started with Jenny McCarthy's book "Belly Laughs" when I was pregnant with my first child. I read her next "Baby Laughs" with this one. I must admit "Belly Laughs" was way better then "Baby Laughs". I can remembering laying in bed snickering the who time trying not to laugh out loud as my husband slept beside me. When I heard she had written a new book I had to have it! I took a trip to Chapters and after some playtime with Rhys in the kid section we went to find the book. I was quite surprised by the cover!! It reminds me of the harlequin romance novels my Grandma used to read when I was a kid. The more shocking part was the price $28.99. I really wanted to read the book but there was no way I could justify paying $30 for a book. As I said I am not an avid reader so this just caught me off guard. Do you know how much scrapbooking paper you could buy with $30. Needless to say I came home without the book. I did however go online to Chapters.ca and couldn't believe that for $17.00 I could have the book sent to me and if I spent $25 shipping was free. So I bought two more of her books "Life Laughs", the one that follows "Baby Laughs" and her new one "Love, Lust and Faking It" all for the price of $26 including shipping (FREE) and taxes. I don't think I will buying a book from in the store again, chapters online for me!

Celebrate Baby!

I made this card for a friend who just told us that she was pregnant. They have trying for a while so I thought I would make her a card to show her my excitement for her. I won't lie I have also been dying to ink up this stamp for awhile. I am in love with how this card turned out. I started with this weeks sketch at The Sweet Stop and gave it a bit of a spin. The base of the card is made with Crumb Cake cardstock from Stampin' Up. I then used some Pear Pizzaz cardstock to create a mat for the fabulous Stella Rose paper I picked up at my LSS. I love the new 6x6 packs that everyone is coming out with. This one had the added surprise that the 6x6 papers were double sided. So for this whole card I only used 1 sheet of 6x6 patter paper. I stamped my Stamping Bella image onto some Bella White Cardstock and coloured her with my Copic markers. I then cut her out with my largest Oval Nestabilities. I inked the edges of the oval with some So Saffron Ink from Stampin' Up. I used some more Crumb Cake cardstock and my largest Scalloped Oval Nestability to create a mat for her. I then used the Scalloped Edge punch from Stampin' Up with some Pear Pizzaz paper to make a edge for my Yellow strip of Bella Rose pattern paper. I also stitched along the right side of the yellow strip with some dark brown thread and a Zig Zag stitch on my sewing machine. My sentiment is from a old Stampin' Up set Flexible Phrases. It is one of my new favourite sets and I picked it up from a good friend who was getting ride of some of her old stamps. I stamped it with some Chocolate Chip Ink and punched it out using the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up. I finished the card off with some paper flowers from my stash. The larger flower was white so I used some Chocolate Cherry Glimmer Mist to change it to a nice brown. The other flower was already green so I used some Pearl Glimmer mist to give it a bit of sparkle and match the other flower. I finished of the flower with a big yellow brad from my stash.

On the inside I used the last little bit of my 6x6 pattern paper and some Pear Pizzaz Cardstock to add a little something along the right side. The sentiment is from Stampendous, it is one of my favourite baby sayings and I think I use it in just about every baby card I make.

I was able to enter this card in a few challenges. The sketch is from The Sweet Stop SSS97. Flowers was the challenge at Stamp Something, so with my pattern paper and my paper flowers I was able to enter it in there too! Also for the first time I am entering a card at The Spotted Chick, for That's Krafty Thursday. All you need to do is use Kraft or Crumb Cake paper somewhere on your card. And last but not least at ABC Challenge Where the challenge was Ovals.

Thinking of You

I have some new addictions. I know don't we all. But really I can't get enough of Kraft Paper or aka Crumb Cake to Stampin' Up fans. I love how it goes with everything and make such a beautiful base for a card. My other new addiction if my 6x6 Stella Rose paper pack from My Minds Eye. I love how I can make a whole card using just one sheet. I don't feel that urge not to cut the paper because I only need a small piece. Like I do with 12x12 papers. I think I may need to buy some more 6x6 paper packs!!

On with the card. I made this card for my best friend. I wanted to let her know that I am thinking of her. She is dealing with two parents who have been hospitalized. One has had three major surgeries and the other had a stroke. It has been a rough bit for her and even though I try to touch base with her often during the week. It is sometimes hard as she is pretty much living at the hospital. I thought a little pick me up card would remind her that I am always here and thinking of her.

The bas of the card is made from Crumb Cake cardstock. I then use three different pattern papers from my 6x6 Stella Rose paper pack. I then stamped Sassy Suzie from Stampin' Up with Momento ink onto some Very Vanilla paper. I cut her out with my Oval Nestabilitie and then mounted her onto some Crumb Cake cardstock cut with the Scalloped Oval Nestabilitie. I stitched around both pattern papers with some teal thread and my sewing machine. I then added a zig zag stitch over one edge of the third pattern paper. On the the other side I mounted a pink scalloped strip from my scrap bin. I stamped "A Little Something" with chocolate chip ink onto some Crumb Cake cardstock and punched it out with the Word Window Punch from Stampin' Up. I added a flower from my flower stash in the lower left corner and finished the top right corner off with three yellow brads.

On the inside I mounted a strip of pattern paper left over from the sheets I used on the front. On the yellow strip I used the scalloped punch from Stampin' Up. I also ran a zig zag stitch with my sewing machine along the two pattern papers. The sentiment on the inside is one of the ones that comes with the Sassy Suzie set from Stampin' Up.

It is so cute and the pom poms are nice and small, perfect for card making. I can't wait to use some and I plan on ordering some more incase it doesn't carry over to the new catalogue. Build a Blossom Stamp

I made this card at my recent Scrapbooking Day with Friends. We all get together once a month and rent a hall for a good day of scrapbooking, snacking, and gossip. I unfortunately had to miss a good part of the day due to a prior commitment so I only got to complete one project. This card is for my up coming Stampin' Up gatherings I have this month. Some of the ladies had requested a card made using the new Build a Blossom stamp set and punch. I will be honest I didn't really care for this stamp set in the beginning and didn't think I would have a need for it. Now after playing with it I have changed my mind. I really do love how beautiful the flower turned out and really how simple it was to put together.

The base of the card is made from Very Vanilla cardstock. I then took some Peach Parfait paper and ran it through the cuttlebug using a Simple Dot embossing folder. I cut a square out of Very Vanilla cardstock and a slightly smaller square from Peach Parfait. I used this square to build my flower on. The petals are stamped with Peach Parfait ink and Tangerine Tango ink using a Rock 'n' Roll Technique. I punched out the petal with the Build a Blossom punch and then used the round end of one of my tools to work the petal on a mat so that it gave it some shape. I used the Versamark marker to colour in the middle of each petal, then took some Dazzling Diamonds embossing powder to give it a bit of shimmer. I stamped out two large leaves using Pear Pizzaz ink on some Pear Pizzaz cardstock, then punched it out with the Build a Blossom punch. The centre of the flower is one of the flower buttons that are part of a Sell-a-bration kit. I tied a small amount of yellow embroidery floss through the holes to finish off the flower. The "For You" is stamped from a old stamp set Flexible Phrases and I used the Mini Tag punch to punch it out. The ribbon is Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta ribbon. I finished off the card with three small Bella Bling Dots.

I love how this card came together and look forward to sharing it with my Stampin Six Groups.

I was able to enter my card in the Challenge at Stamp Something. The challenge was to have flowers somewhere on your card.

At this class we will be playing with some of Stampin' Up new Designer Fabric. We will also be using a sewing machine to sew on the card. We will be working with the new Sew Fabulous Stamp Set and water colour crayons.

The flower is made from an old pattern and a flower die cut.

This card is perfect for Mother's Day or it could also make a great Birthday Card. On the inside we will learn how to do a masking technique to get the spool of thread to sit behind the other one. I will bring a variety of stamps to use on the inside. This way you can choose the right stamp for which every occasion you plan to use the card for.

With Sympathy

I needed to make two sympathy cards today. One for a co-worker who lost her dad and one for my husband's co-worker who lost his mom. They are never my favourite type of cards to make, so I find I keep them rather simple. I made a oval using the largest oval Nestabilitie that I had in some scrap paper and used it as a mask to make the background. I used a combination of Going Grey ink and Basic Black ink with a sponge to create the smokey background. I also masked the bottom 1/3 of the oval with another scrap of paper to create the horizon line. I then stamped the trees from Stampin' Up's "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set, in Basic Black. I finished of the card with some black organza ribbon and a simple with sympathy stamp.

I was able to enter my card at the ABC Challenge blog. Their theme this week was N is for Neutrals, it also worked for last weeks theme N is for Nesties too!

The Injury!

Thought I would just show you all a picture of hubby's snowmobiling injury that I told you about in my last post. I took the pictures so he could show all his friends on Facebook, so I don't imagine he would mind me sharing them with you. He also has a few small bruises on his arms and other leg but none as pretty as this one!

I made this card for a friend of ours who worked for three nights with my husband on his snow-machine to get it ready for my husband's trip this weekend. My husband and his hockey team headed to the states for a weekend on snowmobiling and good old guy bonding. Unfortunately my husband has an older machine and it needed a bit of work to fix it up before heading out. A good friend of ours worked very hard with husband for three night to get it ready, with great sadness on the day they were leaving and loading the machine it decided not to run. Luckily my wonderful father lent my husband his brand new machine so that he could still go with the boys. I am so glad because I don't think I could have lived with him this weekend moping around like a small child. I am glad to say my husband came back in one piece, but with a very large bruise taking up his whole leg after a run in with a tree. The new machine not so much! A new windsheild and some side mirrors and it will be as good as new. I guess it could have been much worse!

Now on with the card. It has been so long since I have gotten to play along with a challenge, I was so glad to see the Sketch at The Sweet Stop, it was perfect for this card. When I saw this stamp on my friend Donna's card I knew that it would be the perfect stamp for my Thank You card. The base of the card is made from Stampin' Up's Going Grey cardstock. The pattern paper is from an old Doodlebug winter line. I stamped the Snowmobile Mice from Kraftin' Kimmie with Momento Ink onto some Bella White cardstock. I then coloured them in with my copic markers. I then used the Oval Nestability to cut them out and i also used it to emboss the edge. With it still in the Nestability I used some Going Grey ink to ink around the outside, leaving a white border around the edge. The Thanks is from the stamp set "Say it with Style" from CTMH, I stamped it with Ballet Blue ink from Stampin' Up. I punched it out with the word window punch from Stampin' Up. I mounted it on a pice of Going Grey cardstock punched out with the Modern Label punch from Stampin' Up. I didn't have any ribbon that quite matched the card so I took some plain white ribbon and coloured it with my N3 Copic Marker. I finished off the card with 3 Grey Doodlebug Velvet Brads.

February Stamping Six Group Card

I created this card for my Stamping Six Group gathering in February. I used the fabulous instructions from Splitcoaststampers to create this Sliding Pop-Up card. I like to try and teach a new technique or a new card style at my Stamping Six Gatherings. I used the new stamp set "Love Defined" from Stampin' Up. To make the tree different colours I first inked up my stamp with Pretty in Pink ink then coloured in the trunk of the tree with Chocolate Chip marker and a few of the hearts with a Real Red marker. Because the marker colours are so much darker then the ink on the stamp you can colour right over top with out change the colour or ruining the marker. I gave the stamp a bit of a "huff" then stamped it onto the Whisper White cardstock. I matted the image with Pretty in Pink cardstock and added 4 corners using the EK Success photo corner punch and some Real Red cardstock. The background of the card is made using Real Red cardstock and the "Many Hearts" embossing folder with the cuttlebug. The pattern paper is from a old Heidi Grace line, sorry I can't remember the name of it.

When you slide the pattern paper piece back the card stands on it's own like the photo above.

When closed the card lays flat and looks like the photo above.

Congratulations Boss and Caitlin!

Friends of ours just had a baby boy in London, ON. I wanted to make a card to send to them with a gift card. We unfortunately don't get to see them very much due to the fact that we live about a 22 hour drive away. I wanted to make sure that they knew we were thinking of them. I used the card from one of my favourite bloggers "The Spotted Chick" as my inspiration. She had a great tutorial on sewing back in December. I actually learned a few tricks that I would never have thought of. This inspired me to use my new sewing machine that I got for Christmas this year. Now I just need to build my thread collection so that I can have better luck finding a matching color. I enter my card at Catered Crop Blog in their "Follow the Recipe" Challenge.

I dug through my stash of baby papers for something "boyish". I only have a girl so my boy papers are limited. All the pattern paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug "Animal Stackers" line that I pick up a while back. The stamp is from Stamping Bella and I coloured them using my copic markers. The base cardstock is a old In Colour Blue Bayou from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding from Stampin' Up.

Using Echo Park’s Winter paper line, we will be creating a two page layout great for all your Snow Fun pictures. At this class we will be playing with a some new tools. First we will add some dimension to the layout using We R Memory Keepers Stitching Tool, then we will add some dimension to our snowflakes using Imaginisce's New I-Rock Tool. We will also use the cuttlebug with Tim Holtz's embossing plates to add raised snowflakes to the "Frosty Fun!" title. All of the white cardstock is Glimmer Misted with Tattered Angles Peal Glimmer Mist. Sorry it is hard to see in the photo.

My First Digital Scrapbook

My Brother-in-law lives in Barrie, ON quite a ways away from us. For Christmas this year I purchase some little photo albums from Black's Photography. I wanted to be able to send him pictures to show him everything we did this year and how much his niece grew up. They were on sale before Christmas buy 2 get 1 free. They ended up working out to be about $13.00 a piece. The best part is once I created one it was easy to make more. The books are 6x8 and are really made for you to print 6x8 photos and then they bind them into a book for you. When I started I couldn't understand how anyone can pick out just 20 pictures from a whole year of photos. So I then though about making each page hold more by turning them into a layout. Well when I started playing Adobe Photoshop to create my pages then the fun came when I started finding all then FREE digital scrapbooking items available. Luckily I took a class about two years ago for how to use Photoshop. That came in pretty handy when I was making some of the items work on the page. The first page I made was "Rhys' First Skate" after that I bounced around with dates and worked on what ever time I felt like doing. I found that it was easier to work on a page as I found the paper that I like to go with it. My computer is now loaded with digital scrapbooking items. I even purchased Stampin' Up' My Digital Studio. I was disappointed a bit as I couldn't change the size of my page and a 6x8 page size was not available. I am hoping to play with it some more this coming year when I make another book. I love how the book turned out and I even had one printed for myself. I do think next year I might go with a bit bigger of a book so that I can add more pictures or make some of them a little bit bigger. Let me know what you think of my first digital album.

Calendar Gifts

I made two of these calendars this year for Christmas gifts for some of our out of town family. They are made using the Karen Foster 6x6 Calendar Kit. Most of the paper is from the kit, but some of the cardstock is from my own stash. I tried to keep each page simple but sometimes I got a little carried away. As you all know it is hard for us Scrapbookers to keep things simple. I had to keep reminding myself that it is only a 6x6 page and that there was not much room for embellishments. My Christmas Cards

While they are finally finished and out in the mail. Hard to believe that I started them in September while I was at a Crop during Scrapfest in Minneapolis. I was so proud of myself to have started that early and still I was 4 days before Christmas trying to finish them up. I had managed to get my out of town cards out earlier but I was short a few for some in town people so for the passed couple of nights I have been busy trying to finish them up.

The card design came from a Hero Arts class that I took a Scrapfest this year. In the class we got to keep the stamp set that we used, so they were easy to make. At least I thought they were easy until I made 50 of them. I started by stamping the trees on white cardstock then inking them with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Ink and Stamper sponge. I then cut them out and added a strip of natural cardstock for the trunks. I tied a hemp bow and attached it with some glossy accents. The card is folded at 4 1/4 then at 2 1/8. The background is a Hero Arts Background Stamp stamped with Tim Holtz Broken China Ink. I then added some snowflakes using a CTMH stamp set and some white embossing powder with a little bit of sparkles added in. I do love how they turned out even though they took forever to finish.

November Layout Class

For the November Layout Page we are using two-sided papers from the Little Yellow Bicycle Lucky Me line, as well as paper from Bo Bunny and Deja View. The design came from a layout photo that my friend Krista had sent me. I tried to keep it as close to Krista's inspiration as possible so that it worked with the preselected papers. All pattern paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle, except for the base paper which is Bo Bunny Dark Denim Dot and the Argyle paper which is from Deja View Lucky Day Line.

At this class we will be learning to do some Gold Leafing on our scrapbook page. The gold leafing is done using a stamp from the Stampin' Up Baroque Motifs Stamp Set along with the Glue Stamp Pad from Tsukineko. After stamping the image you very quickly lay down the Gold Leafing. Tap over the gold leafing gently to make sure that it is adhering to the glue. Allow it to set fro about 10 minutes then gently brush away the extra Gold Leaf with a soft brush.

I then used some of the sticker accents from the matching Little Yellow Bicycle Stickers. The word "Happiness" is from the Stampin' Up Warm Words stamp set. It is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and embossed with gold embossing powder. The small brown strip along the left side is made using Chocolate Chip cardstock and punched with the scalloped border punch from Stampin' Up.

Happy Halloween to All...

Meet Harry and Hermione. This is my 2 year old daughter and my dog dressed up for Halloween this year. My husband is a huge Harry Potter fan, and couldn't wait for Rhys to dress up like Hermione as he thinks she looks just like her. I of course instead that the dog had to dress up too. My mom made the cloak and scarves. I created the ties. I also took apart some glasses and made a elastic strap so that they would be more comfortable for Tucker. I think they turned out great! My husband also dressed up as Hagrid which looked pretty cool as he was so much bigger then the two of them. Unfortunately the minute he walked out Rhys covered her eyes and started to cry. Even when he took off the beard and wig she still continued to cry. We decided then that maybe a costume for him wasn't such a great idea. I didn't even get a picture of him in it. Oh well there is always next year!

October Class

For the September Layout Page we are using two-sided papers from the Little Yellow Bicycle Gen-Z line. The layout came from my new book Page Maps by Becky Higgins. I love it got a lot of great layout to give you a jump start on a page. My favourite part is that it also comes with a set of small cards that has all of the page layouts used in the book. That way you can take all the ideas with you to a crop without having to hall the book.

The title is made using the cricut. I cut the letters out and then embossed them with two layers of black embossing powder. I don imagine that everyone has a Harley fan in their family, so the great part about this layout is you get to customize your own title. The MR. part will be a given but when you sign up for the class you will let Donna know what the rest of you title will be. Some ideas would be Mr. Fix It, Mr. Cool, Mr. Perfect. Keep in mind that there is only about 4" to work with and the more letter the more embossing you will need to do.

I created the small tag with the cricut. I then embossed it with 3 layers of embossing powder and while the last layer was still warm I pressed a date stamp into the embossing powder to give a engraved look.

Around the 5x7 is a clear overlay frame. Unfortunately the package of these has 5 different ones to chose from so not everyones will look the same. However, they are all designed to coordinate with the paper line so which everyone you chose will look stunning on your page.

For the September Layout Page we are using two-sided papers from Fancy Pants Rusted Sun line. The weather didn't co-operate with me while as was taking the photo of the layout. I find it looks better in person. The design came from a layout photo that Krista had sent me. I tried to keep it as close to Krista's inspiration as possible so that it worked with the preselected papers.

I decided to pull out a few tools that we probably all own but have not use in forever "Decorative Scissors". We will also be using a pencil and some ink to create our own polk a dot pattern paper.

The word title is stamped out with CTMH's August Word Puzzle using Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Up Markers.

We will also be using the matching Rub ons and some Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.

Exciting News...

I am glad to announce that I have invited to return and teach at DAT'S Scrapbooking again this fall. I am very excited and look forward to creating some upcoming classes. For now I am relieving for my dear friend who is unable to teach the classes she had picked out for this fall. I will be working with the product and layouts that she had chosen for the next three classes. After that I will be on my own and creating my own classes. So far it seems not to bad as everything is pretty laid out for me, I will let you know how it goes when it's time to start planning my own.

Big Guy Grilling.....

Here is the birthday card I made for my dad. I love this Grillen Guy from Stamping Bella, I have used him quite a bit. I saw this card design on one of my favorite Blogs "The Spotted Chick". She had used a magnet to hold the card closed. When I saw that I thought to myself "I have those and I belive I bought them quite a few years a go and never used them". Sure enough after digging around for about an hour or so I found them. It is funny how much stuff we buy with the great intentions of using it and never do. I even got to the point that I told myself I wouldn't buy something unless I had a specific project in mind and planned to use it right away. Well, that idea lasted about a month until the next great paper line, stamp or embelishemtn came out, and I just HAD to HAVE it!!

Anyways onto the card, I used some old Grill themed patter paper that I had in my stash for the top of the card and the bottom is a pattern paper from the Rusted Sun line. The base of the card is made Real Red Cardstock and I matted my image with Crumb Cake, both are from Stampin' Up. I paper pieced his shirt with a scrap piece of pattern paper to make him loo like he is wearing a plaid shirt. I coloured him with my copic markers and ink around the image with some Shadow Ink from Hero Arts. I had bought this ink about three years ago and never tried it out. I stiched around the edge of the image with my sewing machine and some white thread. I tied a scrap piece of ribbon to a triangle clip and attached it at the side. The settiment is from "The Spotted Chicks" Blog, she used it one her Grilln' Guy Card card. I made it on my computer then punched it out with a circle punch the matted it with some more Real Red Cardstock. I used the same Grill themed paper for the inside as I used on the front. I also stitched around the inside with white thread. The sentiment is a quote from the internet and I made it with word to fit my card. I highlighted "Sometimes" in red as my Dad likes to joke that he doesn't have the beginning of Alzheimer's Disease he has "Sometimers" Disease. Sometimes he remembers and Sometimes he don't!

Crazziness of Life....

Okay so time has totally gotten away from me. I can't believe how long it has been since I posted on my blog. Lots has been going on in the last two weeks! We celebrated my dad's birthday, went to camp, worked a 7-day stretch, celebrated my birthday, had a wedding, and played in a baseball tournament. All in the last week. I did make a couple of projects that I am hoping to post during my two days off. So check back here soon to see my dad's birthday card and my best friends birthday card.

First Blog Award...

I am so touched, I have received my first blog award. This came from "Snappy Scraps". I love her blog as it is full of great ideas using the cricut. She is right now on a mission to make all of the cards on the Wild Card catridge. Thanks to her challenge I have now decided that I can't live without the Wild Card Cartridge and will need to find one to add to my collection. For this award I need to tell everyone 3 things I like about myself. Not always an easy challenge as we are all our own worse enemy.

1.) I love my energy! I know this remark may sound funny to some but I am a very loud, happy, bubbly, person. To some I am to loud and I talk to much but for me I love that I am happy and energetic person and try to always find the fun in everything.

2.) I love that I am a creative individual. I love having a hobby and a creative outlet in my life. It brings happiness to my day even when it is a little rough.

3.) I love my red hair. I know you can all stop laughing but I really do! I love being unique and different. I am a true redhead and I love that there aren't a lot of redheads in this world. I am sad that as I have gotten older my hair has lost some of it red so I have had to start using a bottle to get my natural colour back. I was also a little disapointed that my daughter didn't get the redhead gene.

I Spent the Day Out with Thomas ... and Thomas Spent the Day Out with Me!

Ahhhh, the things we do for our chilldren. My daughter is quite the Thomas the Tank Engine fan. She loves watching the show, but it is on right before naptime so I PVR it for her to watch later. I must say that she is not as big as a fan as our friend's son. He knows the name of every train, all of there parts and what they do. When our friends told us that Thomas would be at a train station in Minneapolis we decided to take a small family vacation and join them. We drove for 7 hours to get to Minneapolis and then another 40 minutes to get to the train station. But in the end it was all worth it to see how excited they got when they saw Thomas in real life.

The Day Out with Thomas festival was really well ran. They had lots of neat activities for the kids and lots of volunteers to help run them. They also had a gift shop set up with every Thomas item imaginable. We picked out a T-shirt, a wodden Thomas train and a Thomas whitsle (we definatley regreted the whistle purchase, along with every other parent aboard the train). Thomas was equipte with 3 passanger cars to take ticket holders for a 25 minute ride. I was told by our friend's son Collin, that there names were Annie and Clairabelle. Too Cute!! The weather was quite dreary but it was kind of nice as the crowds were a bit smaller then later in the afternoon when the weather turned nice.

We also decided to take in some of the Minneapolis sites while we were there. We spent one evening at Mall of America shopping and enojying the amusmant park. To our surprise it was Dora's Summer Adventure weekend at the Mall. Rhys was so excited to see Dora and then we even waited in line to meet her. When we finally go to the front of the line Rhys became a little nervous about seeing her so she decided to hand out in Dad's arm and take her in from there. She did get to check out Backpack and Map, which she talked about for the rest of the weekend.

We also found a new attraction to visit. It's called Como Town. It seems to be a hiden gem in Minneapolis, as no on that I talked with had ever heard of the place. It is a Zoo, conservatory, Spalsh Park, and small amusmant park. And it is all free, well they ask that you give a donation of $2.00 per adult and $1.00 per child. That was quite the steal, for a full day of fun. It was a super hot day with temperatures over 40 degrees with the humidity. We did however enjoy all the parts of Como Town especially the splash park. We had remember to bring bathing suits for the kids but had forgot about ourselfs. That didn't stop us we enjoyed the water to in our clothes. It was so hot we dried off before we went back to the hotel.

Cricut Cover

I am very thankful my mom taught me how to sew when I was young. She has a passion for sewing and quilting and is also quite talented at it. I, myself, not so much. I can sew a straight line and make thing from simple patterns but not much more then that. I inherited my grandmother's sewing machine when she passed away. It is quite new as she bought it just before she passed and hadn't had much time to use it. However I must say nothing beats my mom's original Singer sewing machine that my dad gave my mom for her birthday the first year they were married. They have been married for 34 years now, so the sewing machine is quite old but works just like the day she got it! My sewing machine never seems to works for me. It always seems to catch and get tangled causing me hours of frustration and usually breaking down into tears. This lead me to making a suggestion to my mom that I would love a new simple sewing machine for my upcoming birthday. So when I began to sew my project I kept my new sewing machine in mind and reminded myself if it goes really bad I will just put it aside until then. How surprised was I when I actually finished this project and the sewing machine never caused me one problem. I swear it has ears and knows it was in it last life!

When I saw the post on "Cheryl's Window" blog I knew I wanted to try and make a cover for my cricut. I printed out the pattern from Custom Crops website and headed off to my local fabric store. I picked out two coordinating fabrics, one for the main part and the other for the end. I won't lie I thought it would be pretty easy. Well, I was quite wrong! The pattern was easy but the instruction were not. I had no idea about gathering so I "You Tube" it and watched a few videos. It took a lot of patience but in the end I love how it turned out.

I have been wanting to try cutting fabric with my cricut for awhile now. I thought this would be the perfect project to try it with. I ironed on the Heat and bond to the wrong side of the material. I left the paper backing on and put it paper side down onto the cricut mat. I cut my letters a 2" using the Winnie the Pooh marker font. I then peeled of the paper backing and ironed the letters in place. It was so easy I think I want to try it on a shirt now.

Sweet Summer Sun

Wow it sure has been hot here!! We have been trying to enjoy the sun as much as we can. I decided I had to make a summer / water layout page to go with our weather. I knew the perfect paper to use and ran to my local scrapbook store to scoop all that she had left. I can't believe I thought I could do with out this paper the first time around. For this layout I used the new line"Sun Kissed" Line. I started with the "Sun Kissed Skies" paper as my background. I built everything on that page. The green and blue wave both came from the "Sun kissed Adventure" paper. I distressed the edge of the blue wave with my Tim Holtz paper distresser tool. All the photos are 2x3 and I mated them with a strip of green and a strip of orange Bo Bunny Dot paper. I used my Cricut and the Winnie the Pooh Cartridge to cut out the font from the Bo Bunny Dot paper. I cut the sun and clouds from another sheet of the "Sun Kissed Skies" paper. I distressed the edge of the sun and popped it up with some foam squares. The sun bathing beauty in the corner is a stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie. I stamped her on Bella white paper and coloured her with my copics. I then cut her out and mounted her over top of the ribbon. The ribbon is also from Bo Bunny. It was a nice easy layout to put together and I love how it turned out.

S'MORE Please!

Here is a new layout I made using Bo Bunny's "Great Outdoor Line". I love how it turned out. It was quite a challenge as this was not my original plan for the layout. Funny how we can have a picture in our mind and when we start to work we end up somewhere else. That is the great wonder of crafting. This was my daughter's first time roasting and eating Marshmallows. She thought they were great but thankfully was full from supper an only ate two. I couldn't imagine what the sugar high would have been like if it was more.

To create the scallop border I used my Gypsy to weld four border and corners together. I wanted to keep the scallop small so I found that welding smaller pieces together work better then enlarging the scallop square that is already created on the Mini Monogram Cartridge. When I was welding I also left the right hand side blank (straight cut) so that I could make a two page layout. I mounted my scalloped square to some Chocolate Bo Bunny Dot paper. The three button are Coconut Shell buttons from my button stash. I threaded them with some hemp to give them a more rustic look. I used the "Save the Date" set from CTMH in my journal box. The ink is Close to Coco from Stampin' Up. I also stitched a bit using my Bazzill template and some light tan embroidery floss.

I used my Camping Cartridge to cut out the marshmallow and stick. The title and the marshmallow is cut from white fun foam on my Cricut. I used the multi cut feature but it still didn't all the way though but enough that I could get the letters out. They just had a bit of a rougher edge. I do suggest using the Deep Blade, I think I will need to buy one now. I inked the edge of the marshmallow with some brown ink to give it the "roasted" look. I love how this part turned out, but sad that I couldn't get it to photograph really well. It does look really neat in real life. To glue the letters on I used "Glossy Accents" from Tim Holtz. I find this is a great way to glue on anything that you really want to stick that my tape runner doesn't work on. I also used the Bazzil template on this side and the same light tan embroidery floss. I finished of the large photo with 4 photo corners punched out using the EK success punch a the Almond Bo Bunny Dot paper.

Lunch Pail for Hayden!

I love altering items, and Lunch Pails are my favourite. I made this lunch pail for my new little cousin. The lunch pail is made so that my cousin can put treasures and photos of him as he grows. Each of the dividers is made with a spot where she can journal so of the new things he is doing that month. I didn't want to make it to with baby paper as I wanted it to fun an vibrant. Something that she could have on display even when he gets older.

I used the new Bo Bunny "Around the Block" line to decorate the whole tin. I love how all of Bo Bunny products go together so easily. Because this will be about my 10th Lunch Pail I have made I decided it was time to make a cut file with my gypsy to do all the hard work for me. I made a cut file for the main part of the pail that cuts out the area around the latch. Then I made a cut file for the lid that cuts out around that handle pieces. It took sometime to get it just right but it will now be faster when I go to make the next one.

On the front I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for his name. I used the Printing 101 font cartridge at 2" for the "H" and 1.5" for the "ayden". All of the ribbon is also from Bo Bunny as well. The two buttons on the front are from my button stash.

On the inside of the lid I used some more paper from the Around the Block line to cover and add a spot for a photo and all of his birth details. The stamp for the details is from the Stamping up set "Bundle of Joy". I stamped it with Early Espresso ink. I also used coordinating Bo Bunny Dot paper to make a mat for a 2x3 photo. I accented the mat with my EK Success corner punch.

The divider cards are made from Bo Bunny Dot paper. I used my computer to make the template for the spot for her to right about the month. I stamped the "Month" portion using the Solo sets from CTMH with a combination of Stampin' Up inks (Early Espresso, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler & Pacific Point). I accented the info sheet with the EK Success photo corner punch. I made the tabs using the Tab punch from Stampin' Up. The months are stamped using the "Save the Date" set from CTMH. I stamped them onto Very Vanilla cardstock which I cut small ovals with my cricut. I used the same combinations of inks as I did on the information card.

For fun I thought I would add a few other lunch pails that I have made before...

Just Thinking of YOU!!!

This is the card I made for my friend Krista who is not feeling well right now. I just wanted to let her know that I am thinking of her. I used the sketch from Stamping Bella for their Bellarific Friday on July 16th 2010. I made a few changes to the sketch by changing the place of my Bella Bling and adding another strip of Pattern Paper. I love using sketches they are such a great way to get your Mojo going. I find that I start with the sketch but sometimes my card doesn't end up looking anything like it in the end. But that is okay it is just a great place to start.

I decided to use my new Kaiser Craft 6x6 Hello Birdie paper pack for all my papers, except the base of the card and the piece I stamped Bella on. I started by stamping my ParkBenchBella on some Very Vanilla CS with my Momento Ink. I coloured her with my Copics, but I paper pieced her clothes with some of the coordinating solids in the pack. I then cut her out using my scalloped circle Nestability. I left it in the Nestability plate embossed it and then inked the inside around Bella with my new Crumb Cake Ink from Stampin' Up. This then left the Very Vanilla scalloped border around the outside. I used a the "Thinking of You" stamp from the Warmest Regard sets from Stampin' Up. I stamped it on some Crumb Cake CS and punches it out with the Modern Label Punch. I added two Bella Bling Dots to the top right hand corner to finish the card off. I couldn't forget to add some bling to the dogs collar.

I also finished the inside of the card with some of the left over scraps from the front of the card. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I stamped it a with Early Espresso Ink from Stampin' Up on a coordinating solid paper from the paper pack.

I entered my card in Bellarific Friday at Stamping Bella.

Bo Bunny Crazy!!

Here is my latest card that I made from the new Bo Bunny line Peacock Lane. I have always loved Bo Bunny products but now I seem to have a new obsession with them. I now buy whole lines (times 4, as I buy 4 of each paper) and all the Bo Bunny Dot Papers that match. I love how easy it is to put something together when everything already matches. I am hoping to finish some on the Bo Bunny albums that I have bought along the way as well. I once again made this card with no real purpose in mind, but I know I will find a special recipient for it.

I started with this weeks sketch from Taylor Expression. I turned it sideways and used it to make a 4x6 card. I used the teal Bo Bunny Double Dot for the base. I then use two pattern papers from the Peacock Lane Line for the background. I used the Summer Girls Turtle Tots stamp from Stamping Bella. I stamped them out individually and coloured them with a combination of Copic Markers and Stampin' Up markers. I distressed the edges of the image with Rich Razzleberry Ink from Stampin' Up. I finished the card off with two buttons and a flower with a Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button from Stampin' Up.

I had a hard time deciding between two papers, which paper to use on the front. I ended up having to cut both papers to see which one I liked better. I decided to then use the other paper to go on the inside of the card. Because I am not sure who I am sending the card to, I decided not to put a sentiment on the inside. I used my EK Success scalloped photo corner punch to add four corners on the inside.

I was able to enter my card in the sketch challenge at Taylor Expression.

Surf's Up!

I made this card for my little cousins 1st Birthday. They are having a pool party for him so I thought these guys fit the theme quite well. I started with this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop. All of the paper is from Bo Bunny. I used three colours of Double Dot and a old summer line that I had in my stash. The images came from a image swap I did a few years ago, so I am sorry I can't remember what company they came from. The ribbon is also from Bo Bunny. Can you tell I really love Bo Bunny product. I have quite the stash that I am trying to encourage myself to use rather then hoard. I made the bow with a bit of ribbon and a needle and thread. I coloured the images with my copics and finished the front one of with my EK Success corner punch. In the top corner are three Stamping Bella Bling Dots. I also used some Glimmer Mist on the waves to add some sparkle to the water. The "Happy Birthday" is from a CTMH set that they gave for free a few months ago.

On the inside of the card I used some more Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I then stitched around the outer edge with my sewing machine using some white thread. I used another image from a swap, I believe both images are from the same company and I believe even the same set. I coloured him with my copics and cut him out. I also used a little

bit of liquid glass on his mask to give it some added dimension. It is hard to see in the picture. His bubbles are clear Bella Baubles from Stampin Bella. I used my computer to print the sentiment and mounted it on some more Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I finished it off with a pair of sandals I cut out of the Bo Bunny pattern paper I used on the front.

I entered my card in the sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop. I was also able to enter it at KL Stampin' and Scrappin' for their Summer and Beach Theme Challenge.

Riley Goes Camping!

I have always been a huge Riley fan. Although I have never purchased a Riley stamp yet. I was lucky to borrow this stamp from a friend, thanks Danderella, and stamp him out a few times. She has quite the collection, I am so jealous. Now I am thinking I will need to buy a few as I loved colouring him.

I started with this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop. I made the card be 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. All the pattern paper I used is from the new "The Great Outdoors" line from Reminisce. The base of the is Chocolate Chip CS. I also used it for my matting along with Soft Suede CS. I coloured Riley with my copic markers and distressed the edge of the cardstock with Soft Suede Ink. I stitched around the outside twice with my sewing machine and some brown thread. The "Great Outdoors" ribbon is from my LSS where you can buy some super cute ribbons by the foot. The tree button is from a package of camping themed buttons I had in my stash. I used my border punch from SU along the bottom edge of the Chocolate Chip strip. To finish it of I added two photo anchors from the Hodgepodge Hardware set from SU.

I also decorated the inside of the card to match the front. The base CS is Always Artichoke from SU. I also stitched around the edge with my sewing machine, this time with just a single line. I coloured Riley with my copics and cut him out. I left the inside blank so that I can add just the right sentiment later.

I entered this card in The Sweet Stop sketch challenge for this week. I also enter it over at La La Land Crafts Blog for their "Try Something New" Challenge. As well as the Nutshell Blog for there "Summer Fun" Challenge.

An X-Rated Thank You!

Well it is the end of the school year and summer is coming. Our students at work are leaving for the summer and wanted to say Thank You to there Clinical Instructor. In case you are wondering I work( as an X-ray Tech at our local Hospital. The students approached me and asked if I could make them a personalized Thank You card. How much more personal could I make it then to have each one of them on the card. They are a class of 8 and there is only one boy in the class. Because THANKS is only 6 letters I added an exclamation mark and someone holding a chest x-ray to give everyone something to hold. The letters are suppose to look like bones so that they all look like they are holding X-rays.

Card Formula:

I LOVE MY GYPSY! This card would not have been easy if it wasn't for my Gypsy. I laid everything out on different layers (Thanks to the new update). The people were on one layers, their clothes are on another, all the bones and shoes on the last. I used both Paper Doll Dress Up catridges for everything except for the black x-ray background, I used George Basic for those. The letters are made from individual bones that were available on the Paper Doll Cartridge. I rotated them and welded them together to make the letters. The bones in the x-ray of the chest are from the skeleton costume in the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. I did have to cut them out by hand a bit as it only draws the outline.

The base of the card is made from Pacific Point Cardstock. The card is made to fit a letter envelope (4 x 9 1/4). The multi colour pattern paper and the yellow pattern paper is from Stampin' Up designer series paper "Good morning Sunshine". The green pattern paper in from Stampin' Up designer series paper "Kiwi Kiss". I added 2 Pacific Point Corduroy Buttons to finish off the outside of the card.

I also decorated the inside of my card to co-ordinate with the front. I used some scraps left over from making the front. I also added a Pacific Point Blue Corduroy Button on the inside too!

I was able to enter my card into two challenges this week. One at The Sweet Stop for their "Sketch with a Spin" challenge. And the other was at a new challenge site Freshly Brewed Challenges for their "Anything Goes" challenge.

Grill It UP!!

I love summer BBQs! And it seems that I also like BBQ stamps. In the last couple of week I have added four to my collection, a collection that I never knew I had or was developing. However I have found that they are quite useful for masculine cards! I made this card using this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday! It also happens to be their contest week but unfortunately I miss the cut off time by about two hours. Oh well one Father's Day card down, three more to go!

The Card

To make the card I started with Old Olive CS for the base. I then matted with Real Red CS and the scalloped bottom border is made with More Mustard CS. The PP is from the Reminisce Line "The Great Outdoors". I stitched around the edge of the paper with my sewing machine and some green thread. The stamp is from Stampin' Up in the current mini. I coloured him using my copic markers. (Sorry it was late and I forgot to keep track as I was colouring). I made the sentiment on my computer and punched it out with a 1 3/8 circle punch. I matted it with More Mustard CS. I distressed the edges of the Whisper White CS with More Mustard ink. I finished of the card with two pewter photo anchors and two larger pewter brads.

The BBQ Gift Card Holder

This was a very cool find. I purchased this template from Lorri Heiling at Confessions of a Stamping Addict. She has tones of great templates for sale. You should check them out! I loved, loved, loved this BBQ from the moment I saw it. I decided right there that everyone was getting gift cards for Father's Day! LOL! The instructions were great and simple to follow. I love how it turned out in the end. Unfortunately after I took the picture I realized that I forgot to add the brads on the front of the doors. Good thing I caught it before I gave them away. Thanks Lorri for the great template.

Happy Birthday Collin!

Today is my daughter's friend Collin's Birthday. They have been friends since they were in our tummies. My husband and Collin's dad have been best friends since they were 9 years old. We both managed to get pregnant at about the same time, and there was no discussion or planning to that! Rhys was born on June 6th and Collin was born 4 days later on June 10th. Collin's mom and I have been doing things together with the kids since they were about a week old. We attended Mommy and Baby play groups together and still do. It has been really nice to have a close companion for Rhys. They also only live about three blocks away from us, which makes it even easier to hang out.

Now on to the card. Collin's party is a Thomas themed party. He loves Thomas as much as Rhys loves Elmo! I bought him 3 Thomas trains for his wooden train set from a local store that carries every Thomas item imaginable. Except for a Thomas stamp! There was also no Thomas paper at my Local Scrap Booking Store. She did have some Train paper but I was hoping for a real Thomas Card. I did however find a package of Rub Ons at the Thomas Store. I fell in love with my friend Danderella's Card, she used a card layout from The Sweet Stop. I used the same layout but change a few things. The pattern paper is from an old Stampin Up Designer Paper Series "Good Morning Sunshine". I used Pacific Point CS for my base and matting. I put the Thomas rub on on Whisper White paper that was spritzed with some Brocade Blue ink. The Happy Birthday is from CTMH "Happy Birthday" & "Say it with Style" stamp sets. I punched out the tiny circles from Morning Marigold CS with a small hole punch. The corners on the Thomas part are from my new EK Success Photo Corner punch. I finished the card off with two Pacific Point Corduroy Buttons. On the inside of the card I used my computer to print the sentiment. I used the RGB color sheets to have my color match my cardstock. I added two more rub ons from the Thomas rub on set to finish it off.

I was able to enter my card in the Stamp Something Challenge "Happy Somethings".

It's an ELMO Party....

This past weekend we celbrated my daughter's 2nd birthday. It was a huge hit! She is madely in love with ELMO so after getting the Elmo Party Cricut Cartridge I went to work! I made the invites, the thanks yous that I attached to the take home treats (loop bags), and a poster. I was hoping to do a lot more but time just got away from me and before I knew it the party was here. We sent out about 30 invites and to our surprise almost everyone came except for about one or two families. Beacuase she is only two we did a family and friends combination party. We had just a open house BBQ and people stop by as they could. We did rent a inflatable jumping toy to keep the kids entertain. It was amazing and everyone had a great time! Here are some pictures for the items that I created.

The Invite

The invite was made using the Elmo Party Cricut Cartridge and my Gypsy. I used my Gypsy to place all my piece on the mat and get the most out of one piece of paper. I love my Gypsy!!! I did glimmer mist the yellow cardstock to give a bit more dimesion and a little more of a girly feel.

The Sign

I made the sign to hang on outside gate entering our back yard. I used the Elmo Party Cartridge and made the Elmo using two sheets of Red Bazzil Cardstock. I glimmer misted the "Happy Birthday Rhys", the balloon and the "2". I added the hat to Elmo's head using my Gypsy.

Thank You Treats

We decided to give out Bubble Wands as a loop bag. We had such a variety in ages of kids attending the party it was hard to find something suitable for all the ages. Everyone loves bubbles so we thought that was pretty safe. The kids also got to take home the candy from the Pinata.

The Pinata

I did not make the Pinata I found it at our local bulk food store "The Bulk Barn". I also purchased all my candy from there to fill the pinata. I decided to pre bag all the candy so that each kid got a bag and there was no excessive fighting. The pinata was called a "Pull" pinata it had a series of ribbons coming out the back. Each child got to pull a ribbon, but only one ribbon would pull the back open and release the candy. Unfortunately I had him stuffed so tight that when the back opened nothing fell out.

My last picture is a picture of my daughter at the end of the party try to catch some sleep on the deck. She was so tired she just kept asking to go "Night Night". What a great Day!

Reason for my Absence...

I wanted to show you all why I have been so absent from my blog. This is my daughter's new Big Girl Room. I have been working on it for weeks. Our house has been in complete reno upstairs and downstairs. Our basement has been an ongoing project for a few years now but we have finally been able to do quite a bit of work. A while ago I managed to talk my husband in to switching and renovating all the bedrooms in our house. With that said we ended up with to many project on the go and all my extra time became consumed to complete some of them. The painting of her room took me three days. The wall that is in the picture took me one whole day to do. I am really excited by the outcome! Since I have taken the picture we have moved in all the furniture and set up her new room. I will try to post some more picture of the completely finished product. I am proud to say that my 23 month old daughter is sleeping in her big girl bed and big girl room with no problems. I am so happy to have all the toys in one location and to have my living room back to normal. I even bought a new couch for my living room which should be arriving this week. YEAH!!

Would you be my .....

I made this card (actually four of them) for a co-worker. She wanted a card that she could give to the girls she was asking to be in her Wedding Party. She is planning a fall Wedding so I kept to the oranges and terra cotta colours. I made a 5X5 easel card so that the girls could have it on display. The stamp is from Stamping Bella. I stamped it once onto whisper White CS and the stamped it again on a Terra Cotta coloured PP. I cut out the dresses and paper pieced them onto my White CS. I coloured the features with some Copic markers. The bride's dress is covered in Glimmer Dust to give it some sparkle and really make her stand out, as the Bride always should! The background PP is from Bo Bunny, it is there double dot line. The other pattern paper is from I believe a old Scenic Route line. I had scraps of it in my scrap bin. The ribbon was also in my bin of scrap ribbon. The flower was from my white flower stash. I spritz it with Sandstone Glimmer Mist to make it fit my colour scheme. I worked out a cute little poem based on the famous poem "Something Old, Something New", to express what the Bride was wanting to ask.

Make a Scene with Paper Sundaes...

This is a quick post for now. I just finished this card at 11:32 pm and I am rushing to try and enter it into Paper Sundaes Challenge for the week. Their Challenge is to make a scene on your card. The cute part about this card is that the Truck drives across the card to reveal the sentiment. This was super hard to photograph so I hope you all get the idea. I have created this card for an upcoming class but I wanted to enter it into the challenge so I am quickly posting it now. I will be reposting the card again when I post my class announcement.

Guest Bar-tender at Raise the Bar

I was so lucky this week to get the privilege to be a guest designer at Raise the Bar. Make sure to come by and join in the fun. The theme for this week is Movie Mania. I created my Geisha card, with the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" in mind. I had seen this stamp used sometime ago with the Wax Resist Technique on SCS (I am sorry that I can't remember the wonderful person who posted it. My Apologizes). I loved the look of it and it has sat in the back of my mind since then. When I saw the theme for this week I knew right away it would be a

great opportunity to pull out the stamp and give it a try. Once I created my image I had a bit of time trying to pull the whole card together. The image was so pretty I didn't want to add to much to take you eye away from it, but I did want to add a bit of detail to it. I wanted to find a charm or embellishment that had a bit of an oriental theme to it, but unfortunately and surprisingly had nothing in my collection. So I took a quick trip to Wal-mart and warned in their Craft and Jewellery section that is where I found three different charms that fit what I was looking for. The embellishment I ended up choosing was actually an earring I

found in the clearance section. What a Score!!! I did however end up buying the other two decorative pieces that I liked in case this one didn't work for me in the end.

Card Formula:

I first stamped my image onto Glossy White Cardstock with Jet Black Staz On ink. To keep her face and hand white I masked them with a post it. I then took a piece of wax paper and crumbled it up, then smoothed it out and laid it over my image. I laid a scrap piece of paper on top and then ran my Heidi Swap Mini Iron over the image for a few seconds making sure to melt the wax everywhere. I then used Stampin' Up Classic ink (Cool Caribbean, Cranberry Crisp, Tangerine Tango and

Morning Marigold) and a sponge to rub the ink over my image in the desired areas. Where the wax melted it resists the ink and gives the images a textured, crackled appearance. I paper pieced the fan and her head piece onto the image with Gold Cardstock. I then removed my mask to reveal her pure white skin. To make the flowers white I coloured them in with a white Slingo Gel Pen. The Oriental Symbol to the left is also coloured in but this time with a Gold Slingo Gel Pen. I mounted my image onto a gold piece of cardstock and then onto a black piece. I added some black organza ribbon and tied on my cute oriental embellishment. The pattern paper is a miscellaneous piece that I picked up from Stampin Bella last year in her clearance bin. I finished off with a photo corner punch from EK Success and a small with flower with a gold brad.
