It is funny the things that we do for our significant others. My husband asked me the other day if I could make some St.Patty's Day cards for his co-workers. I thought this was kind of a funny request but then he explained the joke. The nickname of his co-worker Pat is "St.Patty" so he thought it would be funny to give everyone Happy "St.Patty" Day cards with a photo of Pat on the front. I thought it was kind of funny so I decided to help him out and make them. When I showed him my prototype his comment was "You didn't have to go all out, I just wanted something simple". I kind of chuckled a bit as I thought I HAD kept it pretty simple! I wanted to show off my creation but decided that he might not like his picture posted on the internet so I blurred out his photo and created a second one with a Fluffle image so you could get a better feel of the finished card. Luckily I created my card to fit in a few challenges so the joke was still a benefit to me.
Card Recipe:
I started with the sketch from Get Sketchy and some handsome hunter cardstock for the base of the card. I made an 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 easile card. This fit into the challenge at Paper Sundaes of a multifold spring card. I decided to only use papers from my scrap paper pile, since it was only for a joke I didn't want to "waste" any of my favorite papers. The arrow is made from an old cereal box and coloured with some green embossing powder. With my scrap papers, ceral box and the green colour my card fit into the "Go Green" challenge at Raise the Bar. I also used my new "Go Green" Stamp from Stampin Up and stamped it on to Very Vanilla paper. Now the card fits into the Green & Cream Challenge at Stamp Something. I needed to make the card say "Happy St.Patty's Day" somewhere on the card, as per my husband's request. I decided to use the labeler tool from Around the Block. I have had this tool for a few years and have never taken it out of the box. I managed to fit the card into four challenges, not bad for a joke card!!
