Well I must say I have been on a role this weekend! I really found my mojo. I managed to finish 2 birthday cards for upcoming birthday parties, 2 Congrats your Pregnant Cards, 2 Welcome Baby Cards, and 1 more Birthday or Thank You card that just needs to be glued together. It is a long weekend here in Canada so my weekend isn't even over yet! The cards will all be up on my blog as I even already have my post programmed to go! What progress!
Onto the card....
Our close friends Paul and Melissa are having a baby in April. I have mentioned them in previous posts as I making them a baby album for the baby's first year. I wanted to mail them a card and up to now I haven't had the chance to get one done. The inspiration for the layout of this card came from my friend Donna's Blog. See her card here. I made a few changes to it but if you look hard you can still see the original layout she had. I add some buttons and a bow so that it fit in with the theme over at the Paper Players Blog challenge this week. Their challenge was "Buttons, Bows and Babies".
You will notice a pattern in my cards over the next while as I have been using papers out of the NEW mini paper stack "Print Poetry" from Stampin' Up. The paper pack measures 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 so the papers are PERFECT for card making. I must admit I wasn't sure about the patterns and colours but now that I have been playing with them I LOVE them!
One of the other things I did on this card was to fold my Seem Binding Ribbon in half and glue it together. I found that it was to wide for this card but I really like how the colour went so I really wanted to use it. At first thought about cutting it in half but I didn't like how it frayed. So then I folded it and glue it together with my tape gun. I love how it looks!
