Dad's Valentine's Day Card

Do they remind you of anyone?

These are my newer Lulu and Libby stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie. I originally started buying this line when they first came out with Lulu (the bigger girl), then they added Libby and now I feel I must have them all as they remind me so much of my girls. As I was colouring this image, I was laying in bed beside my husband. He looked over at my creation and actually asked where I had the picture of the girls designed. He laughed when I told him it was actually a fluke. So of course the image had to become a card just for him! I had so much fun colouring this image that I have actually already stamped out a few more from the line and started colouring.

I made the card using a old Bo Bunny line "Crazy Love". It was made from left over pieces from the February Baby Calendar Page. The sketch for the card came from "Tuesday Morning Sketches". I made a few changes but overal the sketch is still there. I am also entering my card at "Kraftin' Kimmie". Her Challenge this week is "Something Old and Something New". The stamp set is my new item and the paper line is my Old item. I am also going to enter my card at "Raise the Bar", their challenge this week is "Message Me". I used Paper with font and my tag is full of font. The tag is from a old Stampin' Up set "Happy Heart Day". I used the "D" & "A" from a old CTMH Font Set to spell the word DAD. The ribbon is out of my scrap ribbon pile and the heart in the corner is punched out using a EK sucess punch.

Supplies for this Card:

CTMH Storytime Font Stamp Set

February baby book

This is the first of twelve two page layouts that I have to make for my friend Baby Album. My good friends Paul and Melissa are having a baby and I am making the baby a album to celebrate the baby's first year. My Scrapbooking Girlfriends and I have been making these baby albums for several years now. Anytime someone we know is having a baby we all get together and make them a album for the baby's first year. Each month get a calendar page for mom to journal all those wonderful milestones and a layout page for a few photos. The baby is due in April so I will make two April layouts and one of every other month. The album is a 8x8 size. Paul and Melissa have decided not to find out the sex of the baby which is a lot of fun but it has made making the album a little more difficult. I have decided to make the months that have special ocassions in them first and leave a few pages that I can make gender specific fter the baby is born.

For this layout I used a old Bo Bunny line "Crazy Love". I cut the big heart with my Cricut, Gypsy and the George Cartridge. I then stiched with my sewing machine a zig zag stitch and some red thread around the Heart. I cut the title "TRUE LOVE" with my Cricut, Gypsy and the Storybook Cartridge. The mats are cute to hold a 2x3 Photo. The corners are cut using a old EK Sucess punch.

The Calendar side of the page is made with My Design Studio from Stampin' Up. I love this feature with the new update for My Design Studio. I was able to just select the month and the year and it inputed everything for me. Great for when you are making a 2014 calendar! The font it cut using the Cricut, Gypsy and the Storybook Cartridge. I cut the Bird and Heart from some left over scraps of the Bo Bunny Paper.

ENJOY!!

Whirly Twirly Birthday

I wanted to try out my new pinwheel die cut from Stampin' Up as I have been seeing quite a few cards posted with it. I wanted to keep the card simple as I need some quick cards for my stash. I am loving the bright colours, however as I mentioned in my previous post I am not a white background girl, but I decided to give it another whirl. Lol! The card is quite 3D so not one to send in the mail but a cute card that can be hand delivered. I may make a few more of these as it is a nice way to use up some scraps. The strips of designer series paper are cut to 6/8" x 3" and are in Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is stamped in Tempting Turquoise.

I am sumbiting my card to the SU-Only Challenges Blog. This weeks challenge was to use a new toy from the Spring Mini Catalogue. My new pinwheel die cut fullfilled the challenge nicely!

Supplies Used on this Card:
* items are from Stampin' Up

Melon Mambo Cardstock *
Whisper White Cardstock*
Designer Series Paper in Brights *
Tempting Turquoise Ink *
Bring On the Cake Stamp Set *
Pinwheel DieCut *
Pumpkin Pie Brad *
2011 Sell-a-bration Paper Pack *

Happy Anniversary

It has been sometime since I was down in my Scrap Room. I have been sick since January 1st and have spent many days in bed not even seeing the light of day. I started with a really bad throat infection which then spread to my chest. Just as I got over that I was hit with the nasty flu bug that is going around. I don't think I have slept so much in the last few years as I did in the past couple of weeks. I was really loosing my mojo so I decided to hit the blog world to find some things to inspire me. With some inspiration and a new episode of "Emily Owens M.D" playing I hit my room and spent the next three hours playing. This was the first card I produced. My inspiration came from a sketch over at The Sweet Shop. However I didn't follow the sketch exactly and I miss the spin part of adding a snowman, but it was my inspiration!

The heart is actully made by punching a heart from cardstock a coating it in several layers of gold embossing powder. While the embosing powder was still warm I pressed the "Love" stamp from Pennant Parade into the embossing powder.

I am not a girl for leaving the backgrounds so plain but I was inspired by all the cards that I have seen lately where they have just kept thing simple with plain white backgrounds. Thought I would give it a whirl.

Supplies used for this card:
* items are from Stampin' Up
Pennant Parade Stamp Set *
Heart Punch
Very Vanilla Cardstock *
Soft Seude Ink *
Crumb Cake Ink *
Gold Embossing Powder *
Ribbon from my Stash

Grandma's Recipe Box

I made two of these recipe boxes for Christmas this year. One for my Mom and one for my Mother-in-Law. Two years ago my girlfriend Donna made a recipe box like this for our friend Shanna. Donna's turned out so beautiful that I bought two recipe boxes to make my own. As usual they sat in my Scraproom stash pile of things to do. This year I finally got the time to finish them. I used Bo Bunny paper for the whole box. The Bo Bunny line is from a few years ago, I think it was called "Sweet Tooth". The frames are cut using Nestabilities Labels 17. I printed the quotes on my computer on some Very Vanilla cardstock. I am really happy how they turned out, thanks Donna for the great inspiration. Here is a link to Donna's Original Recipe box that inspired mine.

Rhys' Classroom Treats

I made these Christmas treats for Rhys' Class. Thanks to my dear co-worker and friend Shawna who very nicely stuffed all the Gumballs into the bags while we worked midnights together.

To make the base of the tag I used the peek-a-boo die cut from Stampin' Up and some Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The reindeer is made from the Owl Punch and some Soft Suede cardstock. I used a snowflake punch and some Early Espresso cardstock to make the antlers. The nose is cut with the 5/8 circle punch and the Cherry Cobbler Glitter paper. On this one I stamp the inside with the "even the naughty deserve something nice stamp" with Cherry Cobbler ink but for Rhys' class I switched to just a simple "Merry Christmas".

ENJOY!
