Rhys' Birthday Card

I made this card for Rhys for her 4th Birthday. I had a Tinkerbell cut let over from making her Birthday Banner. I used the paper baking from the cut to create a Burnished Velvet two tone effect. To do this I cut a rectangle from the Be Creative Sticky Paper. I then peeled off one side and stuck it to my lighter purple rectangle to give it a mat. I then removed the top protective piece and then layer on my Tinkerbell shape cut from the protective paper. This made a mask for applying the Sea Green Micro Fine Glitter. I applied the Sea Green Glitter, shook of the excess and rubbed it with my fingers. I then peeled of the mask and applied the Lilac Micro Fine Glitter to have the Tinkerbell Shadow appear. I attached some Elegant Eggplant 1/4 grosgrain ribbon with a bow to the bottom right corner of my card. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wish stamp set in Elegant Eggplant ink and punch it out with the Word Window punch.  I then inserted the tiny gold star brads and mounted the light Purple cardstock to my Elegant Eggplant Card Base.

DAT'S Designing Divas Canada Day / Birthday Blog Post

I had made this banner for Rhys' Birthday and was saving the post for the DAT'S Designing Diva's Canada Day / Birthday Theme post. Unfortunately due to the awful flood that we had our group has taken a pause until our Local Scrapbooking Store gets things up and running again.

I made this banner for Rhys from the same paper I used on her invitations. I cut the all the pieces with the Cricut. I then cut two Tinkerbell shadows from the Tinkerbell and friends cartridge out of some two sided sticky paper I then used the burnished velvet technique and some micro fine purple glitter to create the sparkling Tinkerbells on the end.

Then used purple eyelets in each corner to allow me to thread the pennants onto the ribbon. I love how it turner out!

This is a picture of the banner hanging at the party. It was very hard to get a good picture of the banner as I had to stand so far away to fit it all in.

Rhys' Birthday Party

Well Rhys' Tinkerbell Birthday Party was a huge success. Tinkerbell was everywhere! Rhys was so excited to wear her Tinkerbell costume, we had a had time getting it off of her when the night was finally done. The party was held at my mother-in-law's house who lives a little ways out of town and has a beautiful huge forest  backyard. A perfect setting for Pixie Hollow, this is where Tinkerbell lives. When the kids arrived I had swords and pirate hats for the boys and fairy wands for the girls. The kids ran around and played in the backyard for awhile. My Step-father-in-law even had a tractor and wagon setup for the kids to take rides in. It was the hit of the party!!

We then had a craft session where the kids. Because Tinkerbell is a garden fairy I had the kids paint Terra Cotta flower pots.  This is Rhys' flower pot that she painted.

They then got to be like Tinkerbell and sprinkle the world with Fairy Dust. Each kid got a small jar full of Gold Glitter and they ran around the yard sprinkling anything they could find with pixie dust.

I used balloons to make big flowers all over the yard.

I made this sign to greet everyone as they came in the yard. I used the Old West cartridge for the font. It looks like wood planks put together to make the letters. I cut the main shape of the sign from two pieces   of scrap board that come in the packages of pattern paper to keep them from bending. I then stapled it to a stake and hammered it in the ground.

These were Rhys loot bags. I made the tag and then Rhys signed her name on all 20 of them. It was great practice for her. Inside the box was a package of seeds to grow some peas in their new flower pot that they made. I also included a bag of dirt for them too! There was also a few small chocolate bars and some Tinker Bell tattoos.

ENJOY!!
