Wow, I am such a bad blogger. I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted something. I have been pretty busy. Christmas is just around the corner and I am quickly trying to finish my 4 big calendars and my 2 little calendars. They are all Christmas gifts for my family. I am almost done and hope to be finished by this weekend, as I have a few other projects that I have put on the back burner. AKA Christmas Cards. I have been so busy working on my calendars that I haven't even started to make Christmas cards. I figure as long as everyone gets them before boxing day, it still counts as Christmas. Right? Maybe I will just send a Christmas email..... Oh the pressure we put on our selves.

Feel Better Bella!!

What can I say, I love my Bellas. I have to laugh a lot at this stament as I can remember thinking to myself what is the big hype about when they first started. Now I love them and try to always find an excuse to buy one to fit the occassion. I even bought one for my husband or at least used his card as an excuse to buy one. I used Get Wella Bella to make a card for my friend who had shoulder surgery. I colored her with Stampin Up markers as I haven't got into the Copics to much yet. I cut the scalloped square on my cricut with the Mini Monograms Cartridge. The ribbon is Certainly Celery from Stampin Up. The cardstock is also Stampin Up I belive it is Certainly Celery and Ruby Red. The silver ribbon slide is from Stampin Up's Hodgepodge Hardware. The pattern paper is from my misc stash and I am not sure who makes it. Enjoy!

Card for Dad

This is a card I made for my Father in Law's Birthday. I used Fishafella stamp from Stamping Bella. The fish is paper pieced on the page and is raised off of the page with some 3D dots. I know it is hard to see. I used one of Karen Foster's fishing rub ons for the lure. The paper is "Old Guys Rule" from Creative Imaginations. Under the Old Guys Rule is 4 Bella Blings. I used Stampin Up ticket corner punch on the corners of the Fishafella piece.

A Beautiful Wedding!

My family all got the joy of being in a wedding party. We celebrated with our best friends Paul & Melissa as they became a "member of the wedded bliss club". It was a beautiful fall wedding and the weather turn out to be perfect. Rhys was a perfect flower girl, especially for being only 15 months old. She did a great job. It was a long day for all of us, but one that we will treasure the memories of.

Now weeks later I am still enjoying the memories of the wedding as I work on my wedding gift for the Bride and Groom, a guest book. Now I know what everyone is thinking. Shouldn't I have finished it before the wedding. No, this is a special guest book. Before the wedding the Bride and Groom chose to have names for their tables rather then numbers. They named each table after a country that they had visited on way of their many travels. I volunteered to make table cards for the tables with the country's name and a picutre of them while they were their in that country. The Bride and Groom loved the table cards so much that they wanted to have a way to treasure them afterwards. So I suggested to put them in their guest book. At the wedding each guest signed a buisness card with their name and their best wishes to the Bride and Groom. I then went around a took a group shot of the table once everyone was seated. So in their Guest book will be the table card, a 5x7 group shot of the table and the signed cards surrounding the photo. I think I have my work cut out for me, but I will enjoy every minute of it. Here is a photo of the table card at the wedding. The table card is a 6x8 tent card. The base colors of the card are chocolate and burgundy. The title was cut on the cricut using the Lyrical Letters Font in a chocolate brown cardstock. I then glued them onto a Vanilla strip and rounded the corners. The vanilla strip at the bottom is a description of what is in the photo. On the other side of the tent card is information for the guest telling them that a donation was made to the Cancer Society in lieu of favors. I must say I got a lot of compliments on them the night of the wedding and I am pretty proud of them.

Scrafest 2009!

I love Scrapfest. I count the sleeps until we go and usually can't sleep the night before. Just like always I had a great time! I have to thank my three travel partners for some good laughs, fun moments and many stories that we will not share with others. We were only about one hour past the border and the fun began, and thanks to the Sheriff we even got a cute paper piece to add to our scrapbooking page. LOL!
The class were great, as usual! I was disappointed that I didn't get as many as I would have liked. I did however found that shopping fill my time quite well in place of classes. I came home with quite a few new treasures and scrapbooking supplies that I can't wait to play with. Tattered Angles put on a great class teach us how to use their Glimmer Mist. What a great product! I can't wait to get some from my LSS to play with. They have also come out with some neat stamps and masks to go along with the Glimmer Mist.
Bo Bunny also put on a great class with their Mom & Me Album. I can't wait to finish it! I even plan to put pictures in it and use it! LOL! I loved the paper line that they used and hope to pick some more up from my LSS.
I was happy to have picked up a Scor Pal while I was there. I have already put it to good use with making some wedding decorations. I can't wait to try some of the neat fold card that you can make with it.

The New Mailbox...

I have had a list of little chores that I have been meaning to get to all summer. It seems like I just never had the time. One of my little chores was to get a new mailbox. Seems simple enough. But as usually it is not that simple for me. Our last mailbox was a unique memory from our wedding. A friend had beautifully painted a wooden mailbox to match our fall themed wedding. We used this as our card box. It was on display at our wedding at the front table and collected all the card that people had brought for us. From there I immediately hung it on our new house that we moved into right after our wedding. I loved that mailbox, but it did not like the weather. After the last four years of hanging outside in all the elements it had begun took look quite yucky. So as you see I could not just replace this mailbox with just any old mailbox. I was determined to make one with my own unique touch. I bought a plain white mailbox and using my cricut I cut out the letters of our last name in the cricut wall vinyl. I used the Storybook and Home accents cartridge. I am not sure how it will hold us in the weather but I am interested to see. I will keep you all posted.

Lucky Number 7... Here's hoping for 8!

I am so excited! I just received a call from our breeders to tell me that Tucker just won his 7th Best in Specialty. He is competing in Minniapolis with our Breeders. We are all very excited. It is an outdoor show with two specialty shows on Thursday & Friday, and All Breed shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The weather there is definately not the best for an outdoor show. It is pouring rain and a Tornado touched down in downtown Minniapolis this morning. But through it all Tucker showed his best. I guess I should explaing that a specialty show is a show where only one breed competes. Tucker just turned four and he is ranked number 2 in Canada. We are pretty proud of him!

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Well I celebrated my 28th Birthday today. It was a great day! My hubby made me a wonderful breakfast of Blueberry pancakes with whip cream. Yummy! I think Rhys enjoyed them more then I did. I was so excited that my hubby, who I swear the majority of the time never listens, surprised me with a hair dryer. I know some of you out there are making a questionable face at this. But what you need to understand is that about three weeks ago I had breifly mentioned in passing that my hair dryer wasn't working properly. I never in a million year thought that he would have remembered that or even bothered to hear it in the first place. I love when you get those little surprise that remind you that not everything you say goes in one ear and out the other and just maybe they actually do listen to you when you aren't directly looking at them and using their name. I also got to spend the day with two of my girlfriends and scrapbook for the whole evening. It was fabulous and I enjoyed every minute of it.

My First Post

Here is my first post. I guess for me this is one of those jumping off a bridge moments. You know the line that your mother used to always tell you. "Well if Billy jumped off a bridge would you?" All of my friends have started blogs in the last couple of weeks. I couldn't figure out why. Then I started reading them. What fun it was reading bits and pieces of people's lives. I thought I have to jump of the bridge and join them. It is kind of fun. You have no idea who will read it but for some reason you just don't care. I don't find that I have much time on my hands for extra things but what is one more item on the plate. I loved creating the page and had wuite a few laughs with some girls at work while trying to come up with a name. I found this one quite fitting as I tend to talk quite a bit on a normal day but I talk a lot more and quite a bit faster when I am really happy or excited about something. Oh who am I kinding I talk a lot all the time no matter what the situation. And in some situation it has gotten me into a lot of trouble! Well look out blog world here I come ....
