The turtle card is a simple birthday card with an added twist. The two large aare an added gift for the receipiant. The brads are removable and become cute decorative magnets for the fridge or their locker at school. The brad are made using the new tool from Imaginisce, the "I-Top Brad Maker" and the 22mm Magnet Brads. We will also be learning to use the Spritzer Tool from Stampin' Up. The stamp is from the Turtle Tots line at Stamping Bella and the papers are from Doodlebug Designs.

Daisy Bella Thank You!

I made this card for my mom. She is going to Toronto for an appointment and she is staying with my cousin for a few days. She wanted a card to thank her for her hospitality. This is what I came up with. I was able to enter this card into the challenge at KL Stampin N Scrappin.

Card Formula:
I decided to used the sketch from KL Stampin N Scrappin for this card. The two pattern papers are from scraps I had in my scrap bin. I stamped the "daisybella" from Stamping Bella onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured her with Copic markers. I then stamped her again onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut her out with the Oval Scalloped Nestabilities. I felt that the Very Vanilla was still to bright so I glimmer misted the whole thing with the new Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angles. I then cut out my image from the Whisper White cardstock and paper pieced her onto the Very Vanilla one. Her flower is paper pieced from another scrap from my scrap bin. The flower isalso Glimmer Misted and then raised up with a pop dot. The middle of the flower is a Bella Bling Gem. I sewed around the pattern paper with my sewing machine using a green thread. The sentiment is from a Close to my Heart set.
The base of the card is a tan Swiss Dot paper. I finished off the inside of the card with matching cardstock and a stamp from the "Sassy Suzy" set from Stampin' Up.

Thanks a Latte!

I started making this card at my Girls Night and finally finished it last night. I made it for my daycare provider as she is retiring from daycare and moving into another field. I didn't have my Memento ink with me so I wasn't able to color her with my Copics. I then remembered how much I loved my copics. I don't have very many but I do miss the few I have when I can't use them. I was able to fit this card into quite a few challenges one at Stamp Something, one at Tuesday Morning Sketches, one at Raise the Bar, and the last one at Get Sketchy.

Card Formula:
The sketch for this card is from Get Sketchy. When I was flipping through some challenge blogs I found a color challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches (Chocolate Chip, Always Apricot, Very Vanilla). I found the perfect pattern paper to fit this challenge from Bo Bunny's Flutter Butter Collection. I stamped "lattebella" from Stamping Bella on Very Vanilla Cardstock and coloured her with Stampin' Up markers. I mounted her on a light yellowy peach paper as I didn't have any Always Apricot. I added brown photo corners with my EK Success corner punch. The challenge at Raise the Bar was to have something in "3". I wanted to put on 3 brown buttons but couldn't find any I liked so I went with the Kiwi Kiss Corduroy buttons from Stampin' Up. I also didn't have any skinny brown ribbon to tie through the buttons, so I took my white skinny ribbon and coloured it with my Brown Copic. I really love this trick. I created the sentiment on my computer with Adobe Photoshop. I made the letters look embossed and added a small shadow. It is hard to see in the picture. I mounted this on the same light peachy scrap that I had. I added four small brown pearls in the corners
to finish it off and add some balance to that side of the card. I also decorated the inside of the card with my left over scraps. When I was finish I realized that my card fit into the recipe challenge at Stamp Something (designer paper, ribbon & buttons).

Happy Birthday John!!

I have just arrived home from a wonderful evening of Stamping, Scrapping and Yapping with some good Guiding Friends. I met these 5 wonderful ladies through Girl Guides but they have evolved into some pretty good Scrapping friends. They even joined me in making a Stamping Six group. I love getting together with all these ladies and scrapping booking all night long. And I really mean all night ... I think we finally went to bed at 4:00 am. Some of them even stayed up even longer!! I had a ton of fun showing them the blogging and challenge world. However my favorite part was the amazing Lunch we had today. Karen made the most amazing perogies I have ever tasted I think I could have eaten about two dozen on my own.

Now onto my card. I made this card for my friend Pauline's husband for his upcoming birthday. Pauline asked me to make a card for her husband as I have already finished my items that I had brought with me and I was ready for another challenge. I really like how it turned out, hopefully John does too!

I am enjoying the bog the Daily Dare. Thanks Shanna! It has the latest and up to date blog challenges that are out there. The blog refreshes everyday to show you which are the new challenges for that day. As I was creating this card at about 2 am I didn't realize that the Daily Blog does update her site at midnight my time but not everyone else in the world has the same time zone as me. So I made this wonderful card to fit a few challenges only to realize afterwards that a few of them had already ended. Not to worry I did still manage to fit it into one challenge The Sweet Stop.

Card Formula:
The sketch came from The Sweet Stop. I used Old Olive cardstock for the base. The pattern paper is from the DCVW Winter Paper pack. To give the card some texture I crumbled up both the rectangle and the circle, then flattened them out and sanded them lightly with some sand paper. I added five Blue Rhinestones from Me & My Big Ideas around the right side of the circle. The button was a nice added touch and the marbleized blue just seemed to blend right in. Thanks Carol! The stamp is from "Beerafella" from Stamping Bella. I coloured him with my Copics.
I distressed both the pattern paper and the white cardstock with some Night and Navy Ink. I also used the Stampin' Up marker spritzer to spritz around him with a bit of bordering blue ink to reduce some of the starkness of the white.

Enjoy!

Scuba Thank You

I took my Trex unit Scuba Diving this week. We had a fabulous time, a lot of it due to our fabulous instructor. I decided I needed to send her a Thank You card to tell her how much we appreciated her knowledge and skills she shared with us. I knew right away that I need to use the Scuba Diving Changito. Unfortunately I didn't have him in my stash, no worries I made a few calls and my friend Shanna (The Banana Stamper) came to the rescue. My friend Krista (Live....Laugh... Scrap)
didn't have the Scuba Changito but She did have a super cute snorkelling one, so I decided to use him on the inside. I was able to enter my card in a few challenges!! One atMojo Monday, one at Paper Sundaes, and another at the ABC Challenge.

Card Formula:
The design of the card came from the sketch at Mojo Mondays. Loved the sketch I made a few changes by adding a sentiment and placing my image over the ribbons rather then under them. At Paper Sundaes they challenges everyone to due some distressing. I distressed the edge of the patter paper with a distressing tool from Tonic Studios. I like the look as it kind of made the paper look like the "white cap" of a wave. The paper I used also had a distressed look built into it.I also distressed my white paper with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I used the Sea Glass Mist and the "New" Waterfall Mist. I don't know if it really counts as distressing or not, but I thought it was worth a try. At ABC Challenge they challenge us to only use one sheet of Pattern Paper. My wave paper and distressed paper came from the same sheet of paper from Around the Block. It was a two sided piece of paper. I colored my Monkeys with my Copic markers seen below. I also added a little Liquid Glass to his mask so that it gave the illusion of the plastic lens. I used some scraps of ribbon I had laying around from other projects. The sentiment is a rub on from Karen Foster and the 3 Dots in the corner are Bella Bling. I used my small hole punch to punch out four small circles to place in the four corners of my image. On the inside of the card I stamped the Changito on my pattern paper and then paper pieced the coloured parts onto him.

ENJOY!!!

I Made Top 5 ...

Thank you to all who commented on my Bee Card. I was so excited to receive an email from my friend Shanna (The Banana Stamper) letting me know that I made the Top 5 at Get Sketchy. This is the first time I have received an award for any of my creations. I thank the ladies at Get Sketchy for this wonderful and touching award. It means a lot to me!

THANKS

Simple Boy Birthday!

Here is a simple boy birthday car I made for a birthday party my daughter is going to this weekend. I tired to keep it simple as it is for a young boy, and as we all know you boys don't care to much about the frilly stuff. I also wanted a chance to use my new stamp from Stampingbella. The paper is an old line from doodlebug that I had in my stash of birthday paper. I used a combination of copics and Stampin' Up markers to colour him. I also masked him with a scrap paper and then spritz around him with the marker spritzer from Stampin' Up. It is one of my new favourite tools!!! I used Brilliant Blue cardstock and Tempting Teal as a mat. Both are from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from a Heidi Grace Ribbon pack and the bling in the corners are Bella Bling from Stampingbella. The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Happy Birthday set from Close to my Heart. I used the card sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge Blog. I was also able to enter it in the "N" Challenge at ABC Challenge Blog. The "N" was for new stuff. I used both a new stamp and a new tool.

ENJOY & HAPPY SCRAPPING!!
